LS7 SS build up with a Procharger Well I have an LS7 motor I plan to put in my 02 SS, and add my D1SC procharger in there along with it. This will be a track car, but legal for the street as well. I got the motor for free from my dad's buddy YEA I GOT LUCKY but I have a few questions.
I'm ordering wiesco pistons, lunati rods, and ARP studs and bearings running 9.5.1 compression. My question is will the stock forged crank hold up???
Also, should I run meth on this car??? Upgrade the blower???
I am getting a FMIC as well, to answer that question.
Has anyone ever done this before??? Any advice???

Well, the motor is going to MTI somtime in early early september. I plan on leaving the stock crank in it, ordering wiesco pistons, callies rods, and arp studs new bearings, etc . I also plan to get a front mount of course , and upgrade the blower, but Coates told me the D1SC would be ok for now. I have to buy and H/C setup as well and the conversion kit. Bob can you help me out with what I should do ???

I have a hard time believing anyone would give away a motor like this, but if you did somehow get a free LS7 why would you replace ultra strong, ultra light titanium connecting rods that come stock in LS7's for heavier, weaker rods? That doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

The motor has been under water... I called david at MTI and he told me the motor will be ok becuase they are going to look into it and it will be remachined, and I want everything in the motor to be new, so I am going this route.

I think that you'll be happy with the results, but agree with the "F1 vs. D1" comments. We've just started playing with an F1C on my C5R-based 427, and with no methanol and a fat tune, made 773 RWHP at only 8 pounds of boost. I'd guess that by adding meth and going to 14-15 pounds, 900+ at the wheels is reachable.
