I REALLY want the Whipple or Kenne Bell 2.8L (the Whipple is a little too tall though). From all the information I have gathered the whipple is somewhere between 10.5-11.5" tall from the base of the manifold to the top of the SC and the Kenne Bells are only about 9.5" tall. Then comes the issue with the Kenne Bell is that they design their kit to go on Corvettes thus there tensioner and etc are designed to be used with the Corvette accessory drive, has anyone looked into a solution for that to make them work with a Fbody Accessory Drive? If you could solve the accessory drive problem I'd buy a basic tuner kit without the Kmember lowering hardware and modify my cowl myself...I'm sure I'm not the only one that would like to know your plans with the Kenne Bell 2.8L.

Man, that would be awesome for a good root style setup on a f body. I put a mp90 on a v6 explorer and ran like high 13's, faster than my bros Mustang gt. We just fabricated a smaller intake manifold really low profile to get it to fit. I might just be a customer if you get this to work nice. It looks a little tight fitting in the back right now though.

Looking forward to seeing some customer cars pimping these blowers soon! They definitely steal the show when at a cruise-in with the hood popped.

The 78mm t-body inlet starts to choke at around 520 rwhp. When Ed offers the 90mm inlet option, it should be good for almost 600 rwhp and the case size becomes the limiting factor. I've had two similar setups, with both T-bodies.

348ci LS6, 9:5 CR, ported LS6 heads, 230/230 114 cam - 505 rwhp @ 9 psi boost
366ci LS2, stock CR, stock LS6 heads, 230/230 114 cam - 550 rwhp @ 5 psi boost

The additional cubes helped some, but I'm convinced that a 90mm t-body on the first combo would have made closer to 600 rwhp. It pretty much stalled at 505 no matter what we did. I would have also just left the CR in the 10.0 to 10.5 range on the first combo, if I were to do it again. Both cars had 1-3/4 longtubes with offroad exhausts.

Here is a video of how the 2nd combo runs:
https://ls1tech.com/videos/LS1TECH_C6.wmv

The first combo was in my '69 Camaro, it ran 10s on a pro-touring suspension.

I have to agree with Nineball, the 90MM snout is the key to making power with a Magnuson. Look at his results, 45 MORE HP with 4 lbs LESS boost!

Sure, the bigger engine is helping, but 20 more cubes isn't making that much difference. It's all about airflow!

What about the Kenne Bell 2.8L!?!?!??!?! I am still waiting to hear anything about this sc. How tall are the intercooled Magnachargers?
The Kenne Bell is 9.5" from Base of intake to top of charger.

Do you know what the height of a stock ls1 intake is?

I don't have one in front of me, but I'd venture a guess to say ~6" to 6.5" high. I don't see gaining 3" anywhere, even if you chopped the cowl.

Have you ever taken the black plastic cowel cover off? There is a bit of room hidden by those before you hit the wiper parts. I have the black plastic cover off my car right now and from what I have measured there SHOULD be room to fit the 9.5" height without lowering the Kmember.

Thanks Darren,

The Y pipe is great! I had to loosen up the clamps, and adjust it a little, but no more rattles since. PM me the next time you go up to Hall's and I'll meet you there..

Looks like there is only around 7.5" or less cleance before hitting the metal part of the cowl. Stock intake is about 6" and there is less than 1.5" from my FAST to the cowl. You might be able to fit a KB if you hack up the cowl pretty good.

Is it possible to lower the engine another .5" via a custom motor mount, or is the front K-frame bar in the way? If so, could you get away without cutting anything for the magi?

Nine Ball, on your second setup, can you go to 9 psi? What kinda number would you get if so?

BTW Ed, Nice setup!!

If you want the kenne bell to fit, your gonna have to cut or drop 2" of something if they are really 9.5" tall...

Then start chopping away and put one in there so the rest of us can see it fits .
