Default bout to start a turbo project

i've been a bottle baby for long enough.

anyone have any suggestions on what to do and what not to do for turbo setup?? kits to stay away from, etc etc.

was doing 710 to the ground on the bottle. my goal is to be at the HP level or more on the boost.

Your motor with 6.0 heads and possibly a piston swap would be a great project for a T76.

damn it mike, you're not supposed to be on this section of Tech.

actually, my block is no bueno,

plan is to get a 6.0block/heads, keep my rods (i believe rods are the same length? just the bore is different from the 5.7 to 6.0), get some dished pistons.

but i was looking into a T76 setup.

i'll be able to get some money back when i sell on the nitrous stuff, Fast 90, heads, cam etc.

Really depends on if you want to keep AC

If you do, I don't know of any kits out there that have proven themselves to be reputable shops...Hi-Flo and Phamspeed recently went under and people got screwed.

I would sit and wait for a shop to step it up and actually produce.
There are some interesting kits out there though. 1st ones that come to mind are Ohio Forced Induction kit (OFI), Speed Inc has a sick *** twin kit, turbozone, as well as some australian company that is working on a twin kit.

There are also a few shops that will do custom work like Speed Inc, Stenod, Wheel to Wheel, and others

Call or email Speed inc and let them know what you want and they will get you going. They offer a kit with a 76 but their best setups are the custom ones.

thanks for the info so far.

The car's A/C is already removed. I already have a tubular K-member and a good fuel system.

it'd be alot cheaper if i knew someone locally who could tig weld

Call Brooks and ask him how much he would charge to fab you a kit... he fabbed up the kit on my mustang. PM me for contact info.

A PT-76GTS or perhaps a GT47/88 would work ok on your setup... the PT-76GTS would be more street oriented, the other more for track.

Unless you're made of money, go mild steel on the hot side and aluminum for the cold.

V-band clamps for all junctions make life easy and you'll be glad you spent the extra money.

You'll need a Tial v-band wastegate at a minimum though I would look at the HKS GT wastegate if you've got a lot of extra money.

A Tial 50mm BOV is all you need for the cold side and is pretty affordable.

Im sure between my car, and Srun's there will be a kit of two being built local. As far as Tiggin, im spotting mine together and finishing it with a buddies TIG.

Id run the 88 personally...76 will get maxed out with the iron motor with anything over 370 CI and turning some 7200 + RPMS. Brooks had quoted me a price awhile back of 500 but I cant remember if it was the manifold setup, or if it involved custom headers.

Aight...pics of the fogger? He wants to put a kit on the car, and the only way id put a wet kit on the car is if it was a fogger! dry for everything else.
