this is all GOOD information for those of us who know nothing...... this thread will be the key factor in getting the right piston for my right combo. unlike some of you guys running 1k hp, i wont try to run that until im older and have more money to tinker with i plan on making 8-9rwhp within 2-3 years and after i graduate i will try to get a new motor and play around with bigger numbers.

thanx to all those that gave their opinions/facts on these pistons

Mahle are good and soft/strong when others will crack under detonation. I would go with them every time if they offered custom.

I wouldn't buy all that

I've seen a 347 detonated till coolant was blowing out the exhaust, cracked the deck.

The pistons.. Diamond 11502. only issue I saw, the upper ring land looked like someone dragged along concrete. With deotonation and extreme amount of heat will expand the upper ringland and gall itsself on the cylinder wall in the process.

Try getting a C/D change with Mahle? They will most likely ask if your intending to buy 1000 sets of this piston

Horsepucky. You got it backwards, Mahle are fragile and brittle girly pistons, and the rest are soft/strong. Some incompetent bumfuk vendors will actually try and sell you 4032 alloy Mahle OEM replacement pistons (bad alloy + lame engineering) as a 'high performance' option.

Ross pistons here, 648 RWHP on pump/ 722 RWHP on the fast gas, Beat the hell out of them, detonated the crap out of them at one time, Rings were toast but the pistons, ring lands looked like new....

I had Diamonds on my last setup. They lasted but the skirts were pretty scuffed after 2 years of racing. Might have been the Eagle crank? I'm running the Mahles now on a Dragon Slayer cuz the JEs weren't available. Guess I'll find out.
