will GTO ATI kit fit on a Fbody (vette thread deleted)
i just talked to bob at Exoticeperformanceplus.com (huge help and great guy)
and he thinks that trying to make the GTO kit fit would be the best way to go...
im just curious to know the specs of the plastic intake off the Procharger and how far off the head the procharger is...
and yes my car doesnt have power steering or AC so the driver side head is bare right now. and i dont have the ABS block either.
any pictures would of the GTO kit would be great.
Thanks,
Tyler

i have an iron block and one of the holes that the procharger mounts to in the aluminum blocks is not in the iron block and i dont like the idea of not using that bolt and i dont like the idea of drilling a hole in the block (doesnt look like it has enought metal to hold any kind of load)...
it also looks like the issue that the GTO's have with a bigger blower would be solved because the fbody's have more room in the engine bay (length wise/ widshield to radiator) so the filter coming off the d1sc or F1c wouldnt be a problem... and the GTO kit is still reverse rotation...
i also see that the GTO has some awesome belt wrap

i dont have ABS block and my radiator is a universal from griffin... its straight up and down not leaned back... its 15.5 inches tall and 27.7 wide and 3'' thick..
it is a race car and plays on the street.... but like my first post... no power steering or AC or ABS...
i think it may fit..

how many inches forward does the GTO bracket sit?
and how far out does the procharger stick on the bracket from the top bolt hole in the head closest to the blower it self...

We pulled off mounting a vette kit in a f body But we had to change out all of the accessories from a donor corvette. And custom made the FMIC and piping. It was a bitch and not fun @ all.

Check out some pics of mine.

My LS1 conversion with the Vortech is based around the Aussie platform, using a YSI. Kit originally came with a cog setup, but at that time, due to stock motor etc, the belt/pulley combo I wanted to use wouldnt work.
I ended up getting a 12 rib drive custom made to suit. After a few intial problems, I think now it is working perfectly, no slip, and no belt throwing problems.
Mine obviously has a dedicated crank drive system.
Bracket mounts off 3 bolts in the head.... 2 thru the PAS pump, and the other via a spacer.
If you dont have the Aussie PAS pump ( or GTO ), then 3 spacers would work.
If you want more pics or indeed measurements, i can take a few.
The crank drive would add circa just under 2" in front of the stock crank pulley, so that should give you some idea of frontal space required.

If the belt stays in good shape with the one bolt missing from the bracket, and you don't get slippage, then you don't have anything to worry about. I also mentioned that you could go with a steel bracket in it's place, which would most likely be less money and far less hassles than converting over to the GTO assembly.
Thanks again. Bob
Thanks again. Bob
did we ever decide who made the steel bracket and where we could get it?
