Im thinking its the clutch or something related to it.

I started working on it a little last night (or I should say my buddy, lol), and theres just 1 bolt to pull out for the tranny to be pulled.

Gonna try to finish up the rest this week.

I know, I know, sorry to keep you guys anxious, lol.

Shut up boner

As far as his clutch goes, when i got under there and got all the top bolts that his boyfriend couldn't get and slid the tranny out enough to get a good look, everything looked JUST FINE. No clutch disc pieces/clutch dust, no damage. So when gaybo gets a chance and when i have some free time, we will finish dropping his **** and pull EVERYTHING that is probable and check everything thoroughly.

Hahah, Back from the dead!!!

Well, looks like it was a 16 dollar fix...

The tensioner pulley got sooo hot, its melted and thats what the metal scraping sound was...

We started twisting each pulley and noticed this one was stuck, so I went to autozone and picked up a new pulley (thankfully it worked witht he katech aftermarket bracket it was attached to.

Now I ve got another problem though, lol.

Heres from the other thread I started :

I had the hydrolics disconnected as we pulled the tranny out (didnt touch the pressure plate on back) but its been sitting for a while.

We finally got the car running again, but I noticed as we drive it, soon as you give it a little bit of pressure on the brakes, the pedal pressure starts to increase and the brakes start rubbing hard, to the point of locking up after 10 seconds or so ( you can drive the car, hit the brakes once, and it will come to a stop on its own).

We let the car sit for a couple minutes, and then its back to normal until you touch the brakes again.

Anyone have any idea what it is?

Do they need to be bled, or is my master cylinder out, or what could cause the problem?

So does anyone have any ideas why my brakes keep locking up?

edit: I'm glad you got the it worked out and it turned out to be something simple. From your description, I hoped it would be something like that. I'm surprised it didn't smoke the belt too. Chock it up to one of those learning experiences!

Unless you smashed a brake line or two most likely one of calipers (or slides) is rusted and freezing up.
