No, it is Borg Warner unit that many vendors sell, including Majestic. You can also pick one up from a vendor(forced inductions) here on LS1tech. Although, I believe they sell the upgraded units.

Hope I answered your question.

Go look at a LT1 impala or Corvette they are blocked off from the factory.

Many people report cooler oil temps after taking the oil cooler off b/c it tends to get gooped up on the inside and actually restricts flow.

Look it up on camaroZ28.com been discussed many times. I say ditch it JMO.
interesting... I did not hear about any of this. I'll read up on it because its would be nice to ditch the extra lines. I am hestitant though due to higher oil temps that will be generated from the turbo... time to research.

yeah anything to loose a couple of lines in that already crowed engine bay would be nice Glad I traded in my 93 Z28 on a 98 Formula LS1 back in the day...life has been much more enjoyable when working under the hood since then

Chris, nope the log headers were actually a set of conversion headers that I spotted while roaming through summit racings website. Saw em and told my bro these should work cherry for a set of quickie turbo headers and still clear everything. He ordered em and **** if they just went right up I still had to clearance one of them to clear the motor mount on the passenger side, but that was it. They were a conversion header for a Toyota land Cruiser-SBC swap. If they crack, they are cheap to replace or easy to weld up

As for what the cool kids say....who knows I'm old, but I gotcha now
It'd be great to see you back in the FI game and to trade posts with you on how fast our cars are running like we use to back in the day on LSshit.com

OneMeanZ, Thanks man and thanks for "telling" us to listen to deftones....I DL'ed a ton of their stuff last week and its some great music

I have my LT1 engine bay really cleaned up, without a lot of the stuff i have bought, some I still need to put on. The ABS delete kit is nice and you get a line lock, you ahve already cut the rad support and moved the rad up, Deleted A/C, you can relocated the oil lines from the driverside shock tower near the firewall with braided lines, move the battery to the back and get a small aftermarket coolant recovery tank, and do the wire mod and the hood latch mod and relocated all the grounds on the passenger side shock tower to where the batter tray was.. Your engine bay will look clean as hell
Everyone will focus on Motor and Turbo.

Also to see a the oil cooler lines go here http://shbox.com/1/oil_cooler.jpg

And to see the waterpump differences go here http://shbox.com/1/lt1_water_pumps.jpg

From what I know the factory Vette's use better oil and they did not need oil coolers, also GM decided not to run them anymore on the later 96-97 models.

Brining this back, my friend lately has decided he wants to go turbo and has asked me to help. I am more of a Procharger guy, but he wants to go with a Single Turbo.
Guys how much we looking to just to the Turbo with all the goodies, not including Tune, Fuel system, etc.
Basically just the Turbo, BOV, Tubing, reverse Headers, and all the other Turbo related parts.
He thinks he can do it for like 2500 but I think thats way to Cheap Eric and Frcfed98 how much for your turbo setup.

Btw could you use shortly LT1 headers reversed???

$3500-4000 is a good number, keeps climbing from there. Yep you can use LT1 headers turned around, there is a guy on turbomustangs.com that has some great photo's of his LT1 kit with some sort of shorty header turned around and modified a lil...

We did this for a small bit cheaper but I have great luck finding good deals on materials and parts.

elderbrock sbc shorty truck headers in my sig is what i used. You Can use any brand you want as long as they are the same style. You wont have to modify the number 7 pipe if you run the madman solid motor mounts, Wish i would have known that before i cut mine up

Yeah i'm refering to you...wanna do something about it like post a ******* link to the pics Gots to show our LT1 DIY'er peeps more options in regards to turbocharging their rides. The more options they have the more fast 4th gens we have out there slapping stangs around.

As for the conversion headers we used, they were a tad under 300 if I remember right...i'm wanting to say 250 bucks...Eric will have to chime in as he is the one that spent the $$ on em I just found em

Here is a pic of those headers. I like 'em

The cost of my headers were $289 from summit.

I believe you might be able to get it done for $2500-$3500. Thats just hot and cold side. If you shop smart, I believe its probably doable. I havent really paid attention to how much I've got in my set up, but whats really saved me is the cost of the turbo. I couldnt pass up such a great deal, and I can always upgrade it to a S series. Even then I'll have a bad *** turbo for @ $1900 or so, with the cost of the turbo.
