Default 88 single on 346, spooling questions

I am putting all the peices together for my 98 , I am using truck manifolds and all my own stuff .
I was wondering if you think there will be any issues with spolling up a 88 on this thing. using some parts I have had for awhile and will be putting in a th400 with brake and RMVB. The converter I have is a 3500 , do you think it will be enough stall to get it spolled up and out of the hole good.
This is somewhat a street car but I am mainly concerned with track times.
Single digits are what I am shooting for .

what would be your choice?
76 or 88 ????

T4 or T6 flange?

My T6 flanged GT47-88mm takes some time to spool up but I'm looking for 8's. I went 9.8@141 first time out.

If you can load up hard enough you shouldn't have a problem.

T4 Flange 88 will put you in the 9's and your stall should be ok IMO

The GT47-88 is a T6 flange right ?

i have a 347 cubed truck manafold TA with a PTE88, ran a manual with it last season and am in the process of switching over to a Th400 with brake and a 3400 stall.
I saw 12psi about 4200, spool wasnt bad at all, i was just worried about shifting cause i didnt have much time to do it with the 3.73 rear gears.
mine is a street car as well.
that turbo has made it into high eights @ 3200lb car (think it was a 302 mustang)
so high nines would be no problem.

If all you're trying to do is dip into the high 9's, then a 76 has more than enough potential. You could actually back down to the 74 or 72 if you wanted to. These are physically much smaller than the 88, so they would be easier to fit. Just don't make the mistake of getting the GTQ or on-center exhaust sides. Tang GTS will get you there easy.

You can get a PT88 with a different Tang V housing as well though and you can run either a 3" or 3.5" dowpipe as well, so don't forget that.

yes, i think the PTE88 is the largest T4 flanged turbo you can get, least it was when i bought mine.
and like mentioned about you can get it with different exhaust housings
mine was the tangental t4 flange with .96 AR and a 4" downpipe connection

Ive seen one guy have a PTE88 with a T6 flange as well.

I've got a mid frame GT47-88 w/ a T-4 that Precision made and its for sale. Patrick at Precision said it would support 1400hp as long as it had a 4in DP.

It's enough bigger that it won't fit in place of my T76GTS. Also, the 76 will spool quicker than the 88.
