I drive mine when I feel like it. It has the pump gas tune and I could easily drive it everyday but I dont. Having 627 rwhp is no joke. Now that I am older I respect the horsepower and just use it when I can do it safely.

I'm not talking about the drag car guys, mostly about the guys that want to build something with this power for the street, or even funnier, as their daily-driver. Some of them probably have no clue what a 500 rwhp street car feels like, much less 750+ rwhp. Anyone that has driven a 500 rwhp street car knows they are no joke, and have far more power than a street car can keep planted on the street. You can roast thru 3 gears on the street with a 500 rwhp car.
I'm curious about how many people throw out that 1000 hp figure just because it sounds cool, but don't realize what that might cost, or be like to drive on the street.

Look how many 1000 hp cars are on the street, a hand full. Look at how many talk about a 1000hp street build. I'm sure alot of people would like that set up, it's just not in the budget. I also agree with you 1000 hp on the street is nuts, I can blaze my slicks on the hwy at 60 mph. 500-600 hp on the street is ALOT!!
It's hard not to tell people to stop dreaming. I know what you mean though, when you see 30 "help me build my 1000 hp street car". You know that one MAY get built.

I like to look in here and dream. I love turbo's. Someday maybe I'll go turbo. It would have to be a mainly strip car. I don't plan on going past a heads/cam for my daily driver. I think it's silly. My GN ran strong as hell, and I know what it takes to get big HP, and I know how much it takes to get there. Which is exactly why I am not planning to get there anytime soon. I need a new house and other things first.

1000 HP? Whats that?
What did you start, this post will be 100 pages long, easy!
You are right, that power is a whole new ball game and doesn't come unless you know a lot of sh*t or have a ton of money.
I can do burnouts at 100+ in high gear with my 315's if I want to. Most of my buddies are a little scared to go for a ride.

I've done the spray thing on top of h/c and that's pretty mild, even on the street. I had an 03 Cobra with a Kenne Bell and it made 580 rwhp. The Cobra was pretty usless on the street with a nitto or street radial. We are working on plans for a turbo 4xx ci LSX for this spring, should start with the fab stuff in Feb. The car will be mainly a pump gas car, but it is set up for strip use with limited street encounters.

i voted i have a race car with more than 500rwhp... but when you dyno it.. it may not make it even though it runs 6.1x in the 8th... it has 31'' tires- 4.30 gears and a PG with a 509 at 3000lb race weight in around 500DA..
my red 2002 Z28 used to have just a cam and hit 399rwhp with just a cam and an auto tranny.... this car was fast but wasnt near fast enough...
now its turned into a money pit alot faster than my old 69 camaro (above) im looking to hit 600rwhp in my 2002 with a 408 and a d1sc (the other details are in sig)
any ways alot of people dont realize how fast a 11sec car is much less a 9 second car..... to go from a 11.5 in a stock suspension car to 9.75 in a stock suspension car.... get the **** ready... its a big difference...
however a car with a 4link 9seconds is like riding a merry-go-round...
what im saying is if you want the car to feel fast dont back-half the car... and also ask some one how much these 10-9 second street cars cost... youll be shocked.

I built and raced a 430hp engine only, 600+hp w/nitrous street/race SS. Decided it was time to step it up a bit. Built my "dream" car - twin T-67's, 1000rwhp.
Driving 1000hp car vice even a 600hp is a world of difference. No way would I even drive, or use if you prefer, a 1000hp on the street. On the track it is hard enough to handle I can't imagine it on the street.

I have never owned a car over 420rwhp, because I could never afford one. Now I have driven and built many cars over the 500 mark even driven a built car for street use over 700rwhp. Let me tell you if you want 700rwhp for the street I hope there is alot of straight road. That is alot of power for the street, but its fun to drive. If you go from 400 to 800 your in for a wake call.

ya dude.....at "ONLY" 750/800 im ROASTING the tires well over 100....... i cant imagine more.....
its funny how numbers like 600, 700, and 800 are labeled "ONLY" nowadays. some of you guys are reading too many magazines
to be honest, i enjoy turning down the boost so i can rip througj 1st and 2nd and ALMOST get SOME traction......
1000hp is no more than bragging rights....unless its a DEDICATED track car

My car made 501 rwhp on a mustang dyno on spray. It was extremely dangerous on cool nights with street tires. I have to run 275/60 MT DR's now. I am building a turbo set up for the experience as this is my hobby. I don't know where I will be with horse power but I don't have any desire at this point to run 1khp on the street.

Well my previous setup was 600rwhp and 510trq. New setup who knows how much power. The dyno won't do it justice anyways, th400, Moser 9", Twin GT42R turbos on a 408 with ET240cc heads.
If I can get this GTO into the 8s I will be a happy camper. I do however intend to take my time getting there.
