Default Vortech self containment?

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone had used a self contained oil system for a vortech or well fabbed one up, or is everyone just pulling from the motor?

Thanks in Advance.

never heard of such a thing.

you can try this and do a search, superchargersonline.com

i'm sure you can probably fab up something but it will probably be more trouble than its worth.

It's doable like Got Me SOM said, but what are you trying to accomplish? The only real goal would be lower overall blower temps, right? You also might get some more durability out of the blower, but how would you know you could attribute that to the dedicated oil system? Overall, it's just another set of things to break. One alternate I've thought of was an inline oil cooler right before the Vortech. Another possibility could be building an air box around the blower you could circulate cool air through.

The question was worth asking, at least.

point he is trying to make is if the motor bites the dust and sends metal through the oil it wont make it to the s/c

Strictly speaking...the oil going into the blower should be after the main filter anyway..

Although thats not to say in a major bang, it will catch everything

Drill and tap the two bolt flang on the side of the oil pan right above the filter and I know the Vortech kits have a filter screen right before the oil enters the sc.

I know CAPA makes or sells one, it's pricey, and is in australia

http://www.capa.com.au/prices_kits.htm#holden has one line that list it. I hope the link is ok, since no sponsor I know of makes one.

I just dumped the oil pressure sender, as I had no need for it.

I got an M20x1.5 to -4 adaptor, and Tee'd into a mechanical guage, and the blower.
