Go for it. SDCE is the way to go. https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-induction/406255-sdce-spring-tensioner-final-results.html

EPP took the stock 8 rib to that much boost with no slippage. If you currently have the ATI 8 rib setup you might as well try to run a 3.4 SC pulley on it and see if you get any slippage.

Not always... It really depends on the belts alignment, belt brand, pulley brand, etc... The reason I switched to SDCE was because I was running a 8.5" crank pulley and that made my belt slip and I had plans for 18-20psi out of F1-C. You can call Bob at EPP and ask him... They ran 15-16psi on the stock 8 rib ATI setup with no belt slippage.

The SDCE kit comes with everything you need to make big boost/power.
It is a complete kit, but who knows if they are still open or not.

That is correct, we like to run a overdrive crank pully so you gain surface area up at the blower. With a custom OD pulley we managed 18psi from a d1sc on a 346. With a od pulley you can usualy get 16-18psi , we do have some other tricks that make it far easier to make higher boost without a od pulley.

For the most part, belt slip is due to a large amount of load on the blower vs traction on the pulley. Installing a intake elbow on the blower helps alot with traction, if the restriction is great (fbody hat is not optimial) then the blower will have to work harder, thus slipping the belt. We like to run a tight radius elbow with some of the higher hp cars.

Really, belt slip is just the loss of traction on the pulley. With tires its the same deal, you can spin some 205's any day of the week, but when you get some true steam rollers under the back such as 315's or 335's its alot harder to break those loose.

SDCE: They are very much open for business. I just got some stuff a few weeks ago. As good as ever. I tried to fit the EPP elbow on mine but couldn't because I have a lowered Griffin radiator and it wont quit fit. Would be nice though.

so would I be all set for 14-16psi if I did the od pulley and the elbow and high flow filter?

So how does this OD pulley work with the 8 rib ATI Super Damper that comes with your complete f-body kit?

i believe it bolts right up like stock, obviously you will have to go to a larger blower pulley if you want to maintain the same boost level
