all i know is i ain't buying a BMR k-member. i had one break and my friends broke. to of my buddies have been running Umi and Spohn and no problems. and both umi and spohn said theres will fit like BMR.

so Spohn all the way.
BMR has revised the K-member to elliminate the issues they have had in the past. however, im leaning toward a UMI K myself. i have access to both so im gonna do some measurements when i have the chance. ill post up my findings.

Peter,
I noticed in the instructions it mentions changing motor mounts. Are new mounts included in the kit? What's different about them, are they just poly mounts?

in those instructions it states "supplied" when it tells you to change the mounts.

Well anxiously awaiting for the rest of the instructions already done those in my mind on my car!
Wonder how much extra vibration the motor mounts will give? Don't want no mix master happening.
I hope the new bmr is ok just ordered one!

I going to say the clearance is close to the body. And you dont want a ton of flex like the stock motor mounts do. Luckly I have done all that allready

I just bought poly mounts I was going to put in when swapping k-members, I guess I don't need the ones I bought. Guess I'll just have to wait and see if there's any difference between the ones I have and the APS supplied mounts.

Well I was about to buy a BMR with the motor mounts, but I happened to look here first. Good thing, now I can save a measly 50 bucks

To just physically mock up a 4L80E all you would need is a cross member from Yank or BMR. To actually use it you need to have HP Tuners modify the PCM to control it, a speartech wiring harness, and a 4L80E converter with an LS1 front cover.

The only modification to the trans tunnel I did was quite a ways back, just forward of the tail shaft for the wiring harness to clear, nothing that should affect your kit.
The bell housing has some little tabs or ears on it that need to be cut off, and the bell housing itself sticks out a little past the block in a couple places (wider), but again that can be trimmed. My web host is down, I can put some pics up later.
Many thanks for this info on the 4l80 trans and I will pass this info onto our engineering group to investigate.

Would a turbo 400 be a problem although if do go auto pretty sure will go 480 to keep and overdrive.
It would be excellent if the 4l80 trans fits with no major modification, let me know how you guys go and if we need to design a few new parts (new down pipe, best guess only) I'm sure we can do this in the future as an optional part.

We normally go at least one heat range colder and close up the gaps by 2 to 4 thou on turbo engines and spark plug access is as easy as the stock exhaust manifolds.

I love the access for the fuel pump fitment.

Many hanks for the pics, very helpful my friend.

Good info as we are definitely not producing another/different F body exhaust manifold casting set.

I have replied to your PM, if anyone has a UMI K member we are willing to conduct a test fitment around this particular K member.

Peter please confirm if I am right.
There is no need for an oxy set (the F body install instructions that I posted are preliminary instructions and will need some fine tuning by our engineering guys, the oxy set requirement is just an over sight by our web team ), any sheet metal that's needs bending/tweaking can be done with basic hand tools, that's the good news.

Thanks,
