best set up for pcv is to run the oil return to the oil pan!!!!
run lt valve cover and rt valve cover to catch can, from catch can to pcv valve to manifold -- block the throttle body off -- attach a breather to oil fill on rt valve cover.

im also installing the new check valve STS has available that goes between the manifold and pcv valve.

well i dont really want to run a breather right on the oil cap, because thats where my oil return is and i'm not gonna be able to route it to the oil pan anytime soon.... so would this work:

connect the two back valvecover pcv ports with a T fitting
run the third end of the T to a catchcan with a breather
block off TB port, block off manifold port and block off front passenger valvecover port

this seems simple, but is it effective?

i dont see why it wouldnt work. im in the process of changing out the motor so moving the oil line was not an issue, i know what your talking about though i didnt want to do mine until i had to.

Heres an easy solution: Block off the TB, one way check valve between the intake manifold and PCV, passenger side front port to Home Depot CC then to STS switch.

This is what I did and it seems to work fine.

If you don't have an STS switch where does the Home Depot CC go to?

I'm going to try something new with my pcv system tonight and just wanted to see what you guys thought. The plan is to run a breather off the oil fill cap, run the return line to the drivers side rear port, cap off the manifold, TB, and both ports on the passenger side valve cover.

Do you guys think this will vent the crankcase enough? My other concern is that I might get blowby out the breather. Please let me know what you guys think.

Some pics of my PCV setup.

Sorry the pics are small.

The 2nd pic is the return line that goes in the drivers side valve cover.

Heres what was done. I found this to be the simplest way to do your pcv system without drilling for the return line.

- cap off intake manifold, TB, passender side valve cover ports.
- Add a breather (thunder racing) where the oil fill cap goes.
- run the oil return line to the rear port on the drivers side valve cover. I took the quick release fitting off and connected the fitting from the pcv that plugs in the drivers side valve cover, fits perfect. This seems to be a really clean setup that works effective.

I personally wouldn't go with a mail order tune.

Last summer Livernois was gonna "tune" my car - they had it for 3 1/2 weeks, told me that my Opti was bad (but couldn't say why!), then told me that if I wanted my car back it would cost $300 for the R&I and the 'diagnosis'.

Yeah, they're great!

MIKE

PS - Sorry if this falls into a "slamming the sponsor" rant but we should get to hear the good alnog with bad. If anyone (not associated with Livernois) can say anything good, I'm sure they will.

I didn't see this posted earlier but a few of you were asking about the vacuum hook ups. I would highly suggest a Vacuum manifold. They cost like 40 bucks and make things pretty convenient.

I ran one of these on my turbo'd civic when I had it. I think it cleaned the engine bay up really nice.. Hah, it took like 4-5 T's out from my vacuum lines.

Yepp thats what im using except its a 4port from McMaster Carr. They sell theirs in a wide variety of combinations and are also cheaper. Mine is 3/8" inlet and (4) 1/4" outlets. Then i got adapters to go from 3/8 to 1/2 for brake booster. It was only $14 too.

kinda hard to see. Anyone have updated pics on their PCV stuff? I still dont wanna put a breather on the oil fill. After buying a new cap and drilling and running to it for return i dont feel like messin with it.

The sts say to run the wastegate reference to the turbo... But I have and intercooler and some say to run it to a vaccuum source off intake, is this right if so where are you taking the vaccuum source or tapping into. Also do I just cap off the fitting on the turbo where it normally would be run?
