Default MY 04 GTO with a 76mm set up..

Just wanted to share a few pictures of my custom turbo set up.. 76mm .96 AR stock block LS1 in a 04 GTO

started with a 440/402 H/C combo TSP cnc'ed 243's, TSP .232/234 112
then added a 76 set up to it..

Here is the graph, we had to let off because it went leaner then what I wanted.. 12.5.. plus I was having a PCV issue (I didn’t change it from the stock set up like a dip ****)

well I didn't think it would do that well on only 5-6psi and 19* of timing
but we're getting ready to do a forged short block

How many pounds of boost?

There is nooooooo way you are making 650 with only 5--6 psi on a 346.

trust me thats been beat to death on the GTO site too. All I know is it logged 137kPa on the boost controller EVC V and three people watching the gauge in the car said it hit 6 then leveled off at 5.. I'm still lost on it too..

called JGS and asked what the stock spring was, I was told 6-8 so I'm still at a loss..

here is a post from LS1GTO

If the car made 440 at the wheels before the turbo, there's no reason it would not make 600+ on 5.5 psi. If the cam has alot of overlap it will give a low boost reading, but still flow a whole lot of air mass.
I would like to add that timing was between 18*-20* BUT
I'm not here to argrue what it did or how It did it. I was just posting up some pics for others to see.. Myself and the other 20 people at the dyno are still trying to figure out HOW it put the numbers down it did.. I was hopping to do that on 8psi with only 12* of timing..

Never trust dyno numbers, gotta know what the MPH is at the track to gage HP more accurately. Dynos lie lie lie.

Not an expert here but I like to read a lot...

He's starting with a great flowing 440HP H/C combo. A turbo giving 14.7psi should double the horsepower. For 5.5psi you should see about 5.5/14.7 = 37% increase in power.

440 * 1.37 = 602HP

Great set up btw

I hear ya on that I can't wait to get to the track with it that will answer ALL my questions. I just hope the stock rear last ONE pass..

it went 11.75 at 119 N/A with a 1.60 at 4040
all I'm wanting now is 10.8's at 130 with 60' in the the 1.70's (soft launch) BTW it tips the scales at 4319 now with driver (265)

Woah, did you add some lead to it? 4319 is like racing sherman tank or something.

11.75 @ 119 is no joke at 4000+lbs and very impressive. If you trap 130ish then you can probably belive the dyno numbers. I've just personally seen too many impressive dyno numbers equate to poor MPH at the track (including my own when I was 6spd).

FWIW i've witnessed a 6spd SC'd (8psi) GTO lay down 500 RWHP on a mustang dyno and his best trap was 119.

added the cage 6pt with swing outs, turbo and all the other crap that goes with it plus the meth set up.. it all added up quick

Also you'll crap when I tell you I have all light weight flywheel and pressure plate stuff..19lb less then stock.. best 60’ is 1.55 on BFG DR’s

the 11.75 was on the 440 numbers so it was close

alright here it is: 1psi=6.89469 kPa

14.7psia = 101.325 kPa

so for every 6.89469 kPa above 101.325 you are, that is your amount of boost

142.69 kPa is 6lbs of boost

i'm going to attach a purty excel sheet for this.
