what are you guys mounting the bottom of these radiators too? Im deff. going to change up mine a little bit...right now I just have my AC condenser removed and moved back the radiator 3" and have a bracket holding it there...
what did u guys use to cut out the middle section that the stock air box bolts up too? A saw zaw or what?? Also, does this remove strength in the engine bay? I love the looks of it, its much much cleaer looking.

We used a combination of an angle grinder with a cut off wheel, and a saw zaw with a bi metal blade.
As far as strenght its a radiator support. The engine, and bumper support go to the frame rails, so i wouldn't worry about it to much. The only important thing going there is hood latch, but that is mounted in a couple different spots.

with the stock radiator, If I cut that out, will I be able to move the radiator down and back and make it a nice, flush fit?? I dont remember what the radiator looks like from under the car...i forgot if i am able to move it down 3"

But the stock radiator is still set up to be at that angle... And you have very little room @ the top still.
The problem with the stock radiator is that it is at an angle. Not really a lack of room, which is why people like the stand up griffin.

ask and you shall recieve !!!
i basically used a hole saw to cut out where the radiator tubes come out on the radiator to fit up the stock radaitor fan.
to mount the fan, i drilled and threaded some 3.8 thick bungs to 8X1.25 and drilled the fan shroud to mount the fan to the radiator- No zip ties here !
cut and welded a shroud to secure the top side
i only had to cut the upper radiator support. bottomside was left alone !!
for radiator hoses i reused the oem upper one and used a universal " flex" style i found at kragens, roughly 18 inches long from what i remember.
i had to nudge and convince the ac line to make the ac condensor go as far forward as possible.
engine bay needs major TLC !!
will be using some rubber hose to create a seal from the fan to radiator

forgot i also welded a 3/4 NPT bung to the radiator for the steam vent tubes on the head.
next up- clean up rats nest wire, redo line lock and smooth out/shape radiator shroud and powdercoat =)
highly doubt ill be able to fit in the oem fans once i pop in my S400 borg warner turbo

Im planning to cut my support completly out and cap the ends with sheet metal, then weld a 1x1 sqaure stock to it. What gauge of metal is everyone using that cut the support completly out?

i chopped the core support out and welded plates in flush and put a piece of square tube inbetween. then stood up my griffin. welded some threaded stock onto the front of the radiator so it mounts to my IC and Trans Cooler bracketry that also is the bumper support.
i hate the way those top shroud covers look so i went about with the look of a floating radiator almost. you can see where the radiator bolts to the bracket on the front
But from the top it looks like it's just chill'n there
