I was just comparing you latest pics with your super vic intake and elbow fitting under your hood, and I just noticed that you turned your Throttle body upside down!! I didn't think about that. I think if I was to do this as well, then my stock t/a hood will clear, since the hood was hitting the TB on the big "hump" per say of the TB.

yup..had that same issue, looked at it a bit and came up with that idea just had to move the IAC and TPS wires over to the other side of the motor (very easy to do with BS3) and relocate the bracket to hold the throttle cable

Test and Tune Results (5/17/09)

Still fighting an ignition-related problem at 7500 rpm (breaks up)...this pretty much has mph limited the car at the traps...probably would've been 185-186 on the last run

New converter is MUCH TIGHTER

all runs were 25psi peak...and guess what...didn't appear to push any water...who said you can't seal a 4-bolt head
First run....

60'-1.696
330-4.144
1/8-5.972
mph-140.21
1000-7.524
1/4-8.814
mph 180.43

run two...more rpm (more boost) on launch
60'-1.502
330-3.732
1/8-5.526
mph-142.64
1000-7.064
1/4-8.351
mph-181.13

run 3 (a little more rpm on footbrake and transbrake)
60'-1.496
330-3.675
1/8-5.444
mph-144.55
1000-6.973
1/4-8.256
mph-181.35

Video...

First run (don't laugh too hard about the launch...how the hell did it accelerate to 180 mph?)

Last run

Real Street Results (5/22/09)

Qual 1...blew tires off at the hit...coast to a 7.0 (1/8)

Qual 2...backed the car down a bit...5.33 @ 140 (1.374 60') qualified #5 of 13

http://home.comcast.net/~tfranklin55...5p33_small.wmv

Rd 1...turned up the heat a bit in the middle...(1.386 60') blew tires off at 100' in the run (lose the round)

http://home.comcast.net/~tfranklin55...spin_small.wmv

Test and Tune pass...same tuneup, a little more suspension travel up front...1.341 60' but spun about 125-150' out (track went away...Stine spun in the same part of the track moments before)
http://home.comcast.net/~tfranklin55...thit_small.wmv

Based on my Log data, the last 2 runs, where the car spun, it was going ~7mph faster at 1 1/2 seconds into the run than the 5.33 @ 140 pass

Our FI98X has enough compressor to push 190-195mph. I wish one clean run would go down....lol. They need to prep that track more.

we wanted longer tubes to see how a "mid length" header would respond

they work fine, but made packaging difficult. next setup will probably be more conventional looking since I want to put in a bigger huffer
