Forged Motor Build In Progress
well i finally blew the stock eng up -- #5 burnt -- so im going to replace eng with a forged short block from HK.
aluminum LS6 347 -- diamond pistons, compstar rods, clevite bearings, LS6 ported oil pump, double roller timing chain, ARP studs, Patriot stage 2 heads, turbo cam, LS6 intake, also im changing my stock A4 to a Performabuilt stage 2 trans, should be about 3 -4 weeks ill try to post pics as we go and get her back on the road. looking to push 10-12 psi and get 520-550 rwhp.

Happy about this new project. I'm planning to go Prochraged soon and my actual 5.7L is a kind of tired already (131,000 miles). Considering rebuilt it before the procharger but if you can be so kind and tell me the measures of the rods and pistons for this. I'm following Bob's (EPP) list also and will go with Patriots stage 2 also (LQ's). Would appreciate your knowledges.

not sure what caused the #5 piston to burn, all other pistons looked normal after tear down, we had been on 8 psi for about 3 months and 5 psi about 1 year prior, probably to much for the 90k motor i guess, my AFR never got to lean, i did have a trans slip issue just prior, maybe an over rev ???
as far as measurements, i dont know, i left that up to my tuner and eng builder. i just told them what i wanted , what i was running and what my plans are, so he build me solid short block to accomodate my needs, i do know it is a new LS6 block , we had diamond make a custom piston for us we are going with 9.1-1 compression , the stage 2 heads are 64 cc , 225 runners.
i was considering going to 70 turbo but i dont have enough injector and the piggy bank is empty . maybe that will be the next upgrade, right now i just want my car back.
