If you had a half million dollar motor I'm sure you'd make huge power with virtually no displacement as well. There's so many differences on an F1 motor compared to your LS1 that it's a total orange, compared to your apple.
For instance, the valves are neumatically actuated and the tank must be refilled throughout the race or they wont open and close properly. Try taking a cruise with some buddies and then run outta air.

About time Tiago!
More cubes will ALWAYS help out.
By the way, F1 motors are 2.5L That is 150 Cubic Inches.

More power in my mind is not just a peak number but overall power at every rpm point. If bigger didnt make more power why even turbo.....it simulates a bigger motor by making more oxygen available. I am not talking street car or anything else........given an unlimited budget, which will make more overall power...350 or 400ci? 400ci Unfortunately, we dont have unlimited budgets

If you're gonna keep that P1SC then you will want to stay with the 346. Not that it'll run bad with a 408, but the extra weight won't be offset by using a bigger blower.

no. But I would say that whatever I was at was the limit of my perticular 346 it felt extra peppy the last days of its life.

did you miss unlimited budget? If i had money, i wouldnt use a 76gts for max power on a 400. I guess with your logic we should all dump the 347/408 and run a 1.5L and make more power. That is what you keep repeating.....smaller makes more power. Quit handicapping the bigger motor....

Well, if I've been reading this thread right (NOT MY PERSONAL OPINION), it seems its better to handicap the motor than the turbo, viz.
1. You don't lose turbo reliability going to a bigger turbo.
2. You do lose ENGINE reliability the bigger you stretch the LS1 engine, according to some users on this thread (bigger bore increasing the risk of detonation and cylinder distortion).
Is this where we're at? Is this one of the current questions or am I reading this incorrectly?

Take the 76GTS example again. 383-402 cid seems to be stuck at 750 - 800 rwhp (20 psi max'd out). 355 have done as good as 990 rwhp (24 psi max'd out). 180 cid Supra's have gone over 1000 rwhp (28-35 psi). All with the same turbo. Now, if we flip things around and put a pump gas constraint on it and limit boost to, say, 17 psi, the 388-402 will be at 700 rwhp, the 355 will be at 650 rwhp, and the 180 cid Supra will be at 550 rwhp.

so far what ive gotten out of this thread is that if said person had the means (money) to do so, they would go with bigger cubes. im no engineer but in essence it would seem that a bigger cubed motor would make the same amount of power as a 346 with alot less boost.
case in point earlier in the thread SVC making 700+ on only 9psi with his 408. i know combos would vary and would determine the HP in the long run but the most ive seen out of a 346 at only 9#s was about 600....i could be wrong though. im learning just like alot of other people...with all that rambling out of the way...proceed!! subscriibing!
