I prefer the 5-inch open downpipe myself.

I added a short 3" glasspack to the tailpipe on the STS it cut down on the spool noise and made the car sound deeper. The stainless tip looks like it used to stock (WS6) Just on the oppisite side.

What sort of design is the hooker ?

I know my magnaflow is straight through ( albeit centre-side )

It was an Aerochamber.

The strange thing was that my old 550 rwhp T-trim combination only gained 5 rwhp when removing the whole 3" Aerochamber cat-back. But, the turbo combination gained a lot more than that when switching from a 3.5" Aerochamber to a 3.5" Magnaflow.

The turbo system must be more sensitive to back pressure then ??

I guess cam specs, axhaust shape or design ( n/a ) and overall power output and many other variables come into it

the aerochamber relied on the venturi effect, the inside was straight through but the last half was a large cone with the output still being 3.5" which i would think would make the exhaust move faster than the magnaflow since its just an offset straight through
