Default Turbonetics GT-K 500 and 550 questions??

Do anyone know if these are T3/T4 turbo's? I am having a hard time finding good information on these turbos. Including XXlbs/min... Does anyone have the skinny on these...?

We build them here with some different options. Alll depends on what you want as far as comp wheel, and turbine wheel match up. The 500 and 550 are just standard 60 and 61mm wheels.

Very interesting.. Are they the same dimensions as the T3/T04E that Turbonetic's sell or are they the same size as the T60-1's and T62-1's.. The information on their website pretty much sucks..

What's the max you can get one to flow that would be T3/T4?

Vince I imagine your talking about the TTI kit correct?? Doesn't the TTI kit use TO4B covers (2.75" inlet) though, or can you fit the E-cover (3"inlet)??? If so Jose is working on a set of turbos for the T3/T4 guys that will blow the cover's off the current units available on the market.

Are these new turbos that Jose is working on come with internal waste gates?

How much air do they flow?

Thanks,
Glenn

Details...details... a certain GTS is in need of some "better" T3/T4's than the current units that I am running(TO4B cover)...not sure if I can fit in an E cover.

I was sent on a mission to learn more about turbos in general.. I purchased my TTi kit with the understanding I would not get the turbo information from TTi or associates other than the turbos are T3/T4 from Turbonetics. Well I got a pamphlet from Turbonetics, but they are very vague about the descriptions on the turbos. They have everything sectioned off. The 60-1's are in one section. The GT-K's are in another section. The 62-1's are in another section. the T3/T4's are in another section and the T3/T04B's and T04E's are in a different section. So for a person that is trying to distinguish what's T3/T4 when all of them say they have an application for a T3 turbine with a T4 compressor wheel and not knowing the exact diminsions of my OWN turbo I get easily lost. Not all the descriptions go into detail on covers and that is another thing that confuses me. I was told my current turbos flow 55lbs/min each. I plan on keeping them until I reach their limits or my drivetrain/motor limits. Once I hit that bump in the road I will decide on next what to do. Rumor is TTi has an upgrade unit now for my current application that flows quite a bit more, but as usual the flow #'s are tight lipped. No biggie.. I will try to max what I have and then go to TTi and say now what's next.. This is also depends on what Jose comes up with and if it would fit the TTi's application.

As for Earl H., I am watching your Viper setup as well. I know quite a few people in my area thinking of running your very kit, but they want more power and upgraded turbos would help them as well..

They will be built in both chassis, using hopefully ETT wheels if everything works out. The problem is alot of CNC machine work is going to go into all of this, so it may take a little bit before I get all the final details.

I believe they can be made to run internal gates as well. The top wheel in the E-cover will flow 81lbs/min

FWIW, a GT67 flows 71lbs/min

Cool...

I want a fast spooling, T3 flanged BB unit with the black Turbonetics GT-K cover, that will flow enough for a real 600bhp on a 2.2 motor..

Then also a T4 flanged BB unit ( price dependant, oil journal may suffice if there really isnt any performance/durability advantage ) 70mm ETT turbo for a 2.35 motor... for circa 900+bhp

BTW, the ETT 70 made 900.XX at the wheels on a 2JZ so far. Also the new ETT 80mm with larger turbine made over 1200WHP on a Pro car Scion. These bastards are making power.......also new turbine wheels are coming as well for some turbos. The future is bright. Also we have a new GT42-70R DBB that is priced ALOT more competively with a new CHRA. I think you guys will like it.
