I havent experienced any problems with the mech units...as long as its a good brand, I wouldnt worry about it too much.

the nice thing about having an electrical is being able to input it into hptuners (or any tuning software with outputs) and log it along with everything else.

that being said i have a mech. because i am a cheap ***

Are you going turbo or blower? If turbo, then you'll want a boost controller, maybe an electronic one... and those, e.g. Eboost2, incorporate a boost gauge.

For logging, you can just capture MAP readings as long as you have the appropriate sensor (2 bar or 3 bar).

its turbo, so a controller has a gauge also?

The Eboost2 uses a sideways live "bar graph" display for boost, and incorporates peak boost and peak rpm recording.

I'm always too busy to look at it, though!
