Need lower compression
Could I use some 6.0L heads to lower the compression? How much would a set cost? I've researched this but I'm still unsure on how well they will work on a stock 346. Does anything need to be done to them?
I will be installing a Vortech 9# kit with Aftercooler and a thunder racing supercharger cam with new valve springs.
What would go first, the rear end or the motor? Car gets run pretty hard. Its a 2001 with 56000 miles.
You can lower them a little further by using a thicker gasket.
This is a cheap way to lower your CR
when i got my 6.0's i did a mild port job and a 3 angle valve job.
You can probably get 6.0L heads w/whatever CC you want for cheap...
I have 73cc chambers in my heads, and that gives me 9.5:1 compression on a stock 346c.i. motor

If you really want to, just buy some used 6.0L heads, i don't know if they'll flow as well as the 5.7L heads (or is that just the 5.3L's?) if they are unported. You should be able to just unbolt the 5.7 heads and bolt up the 6.0 heads.
I don't think the money and time are worth it, your stock CR should be ok with that. If you are THAT worried about it, i think the cheaper/easier solution would be to get 5 or 6lbs pulleys until you get your pistons and rods....just a thought.
