Speed Inc. shop car update
I'll post up some pictures tomorrow, but here and there we've been working on our shop car. Current setup is-
383ci 6.0 iron block, Callies crank, oliver rods, CP pistons, 10.0-1 compression. Out of the box ET 235's, stock LS2 intake, 90mm tb.
Cam is a 240/240 112lsa hydraulic roller with comp stock replacement lifters.
Turbos are twin Innovative GT72 ball bearing P-trim, .82 a/r. Intercooler was built by Dan with a 24x12x6 air/air core from Bell. Exhaust is dual 3.5 downpipes into Borla mufflers ending just ahead of the torque arm crossmember.
Rossler T400 with Neal Chance bolt together converter.
9in with 3.25 gears.
We had it mini-tubbed and are running 325 50/15 ET street radials.
First run on the dyno pushed out the Titan ICS copper gaskets so we threw on some GM MLS and brought it to the track. Just going from memory it ran 8.9 @ 156 with 17psi boost, leaving easy.
We've since changed the 234/234 113 cam to it's current 240/240 112 cam and had the converter tightened up as we were getting about 15% slip.
On the dyno today it made-
882rwhp @15psi, and
1,144rwhp (spiked to 24psi and held steady at 20psi) Ran it up to 7,850rpm and power was just barely starting to fall off.
If all goes as planned we'll be making some more runs at the NMRA/NMCA thing at RT66 in Joliet this weekend in the Real Street class. Should be fun

I would think the power is there to go high 7's, but we would be more then pleased being in the lower 8's. We just have to get it to the ground.
This is a street car with working radio and the only weight reduction mod was the A/C. I am sure the TT system, and cage more then make up for that though.
This weekend is looking to be great weather and with a good track it should be interesting.
Jim and Dan have worked hard on this car over the months...great job guys

Love your work guys. This car should be sick. I have long been a fan of higher static compression and boost. Its kinda like nitrous. People hear horror stories of how bad it can be from others that have melted engines and don't want to mess around with it at all. Done properly it will net you as you stated, more power and alot better responce. I cant wait to see a vid!
