The bumper didn't really need painting but may as well while its off. It was my DD while in High School. So it has some wear and tear on it.

BDJ's racing lid was on the car when I bought it back in 2000. He mostly does ????? neon's now and other import stuff. Dont really know first hand what there charge either.
Well it was my dads B-Day today so no work really got done. But tomorrow after work I will hit the shop and kit the K-member on the ground and start the heads and cam. Any tricks on dropping the trany/motor/k member?

its pretty straight forward....first time we did it it took about 3-4 hours and that was takin our time, didnt want to break anything. keep an eye out on the hard brake lines so they dont get caught on anything. other than that, its cake. keep up on the pics!

I think am doing the fuel pump with the cutting the hole in back method. Much easier also if you have to go back in there for any reason. I am not sure it can be done that way on the verts.Anyone done this method on a vert? My car is not a vert though so not too worried but am planning a pump install in my 96lt1 so was curious about that.

Oh thanks to Brains for the pdf file. I got manual printed at local staples and it was cheap as pdf is only 83 pages compared to like 180 in non pdf. I just went with black and white, color was way more and not really necessary. Do I need a gm manual or will a hayes do it for taking apart the front bumper and stuff?

Just start pulling bolts off the bumper, and it gets easy. this was my first time to pull the bumper. Air tools for this job is a BIG PLUS+++++

Ok was at it again last night from 7:30-11:00 oclock pulling the k member/motor/tranny. First I want to say it was more than I planned. I thought it out in my head and it sounded easy but was not.
For the first timers like myself, there are about 5 sencer behind the intake and 3 15mm bolts that have ground wires bolted to the heads. 1 on the left head and 2 on the right head(driverside). Its easier if you remove the intake and coil packs just so you can see it better. And boy did this lift come in handy. I give you homedoer props for doing it on jackstands. Brake lines were a pain in the ***. Its a must to have a good helper next to you. Would like to thank my good buddy jason, (racinjason). After all of last night. I'm really thinking about getting a forged motor now. B/c I don't want to do that crap again. Anyone have a motor for sale? While heres the pictures from last night.
Next start pulling old Heads and cam.

thats the main reason i shelled out the cash for a forged motor. i was doing the install and thought "man i really dont want to do this again, so i'll just have the motor done while its out" im sure it'll be worth it. im having my front bumper repainted for the same reason, damn daily driving in high school

It's not so bad pulling the motor "the old fashioned way" (out the top) with a cherry picker. But definitely NOWHERE NEAR as easy as out the bottom with a lift

Word to ya mother on dropping it out the bottom. Sorry KWIKKAR, I just saw your thread. I could have told you to go ahead and pull the intake first. Having a lift is nice but not really necessary. I've dropped / installed with out a lift several times (just have to have a strong cherry picker). Hell, one of my buddies dropped his out the bottom in his front yard. Used: 2 jacks, a ton of boards and blocks, and a 4-wheeler. Yea, that's what I said.

Mount up...... let's see more pics. Check out my engine dolly...
