I'm puting it in becasue you have to have a BMR or UMI K member for the turbo kit.

Well guys I'm stuck right now, either I put the new heads on and put in my old motor or wait a few weeks and have a new one built, I would like to find a 364 or 402 for sale, and go buy it. any help?
I know where I can buy a 402 Ls2 short block but I have to buy alot of stuff to transfer it over to an Ls1 car. Timing cover, timing chain, oil pump, valley cover, wiring ext. for Knock and cam senser. etc.

Then sell my old short block and heads and cam.

And then Sell the cam I bought from speed inc thats Brand New.

what should I do??????????/

I would wait you have it out now and do it right with a forged up motor. ls2,6.0 ,lsx block whatever. So what if its a few more weeks. Thats nothing in the big picture. In fact I am thinking of waiting till spring to install my twin kit and by then should have a wicked 408 or 427 LSX block all done up waiting.
Since your engine is out its just too easy to put the good one in. In my case could put the turbos on the stocker motor and maybe bolt on some heads and turbo cam . But if my engine is ever out of the car its not going back in!

I agree. Enjoy what you have now and the hp bug always bites no matter the current level so you will still have room to grow once you get use to the power level on the stock engine.

How did you get your sending unit out? Mine is not budging with any methods of persuasion. It is really starting to **** me off!

Hugger Z, first dont use the taps that are on the outside of it. Use the ones that are on the inner part of the ring. I believe its right before the ring clamps over the plastic slit. Hope this helps , its hard to sa without a picture.

Well guys I think I'm just going to buy a 402 Ls2 stroker motor. Now for the questions. To make it work on a ls1 you have to get the cam, knock sensor ext. And I think there is one other thing. what is it? something about tooth number or something? Is that right?

Ok Guys I'm buying a Katech 402 Ls2 stroker. Can't wait. So until then, install is on hold. I'll be pulling tranny off and clutch and cleaning everything up and getting it ready to be installed on new motor.

Hopefully 800rwhp will be in order.
Thats about double the horsepower of what I have now. Gzz I can only think of how fast its going to be.

Patience is a virtue. Better to put in that forged up new motor and really be able to get some power if you want to then hope the stock engine stays together. I am likely doing same thing. Waiting think till spring and doing it up properly. Season is almost over here anyway.
I just got to ride in buddies ati procharged SS today. Car is auto and has minor mods..ls6 intake, flp headers, corsa catback. Stock stall, stock 3.23s. Car just ran low 12s at local track at around 118mph not bad. But supposed to dyno at 500 rwhp. He was on street tires not even nittos. So of course hard to hook up. Think said 2.1 60ft pretty good for our track. Anyway I have say at 7.5 I was not that impressed by the procharger.I got to drive it also. So now think that I do need to do a forged up 400 plus and run quite a bit more boost to be impressed. Course still think our twin kit should feel much stronger since turbos have much better area under the curve. That procharger really needs some gears and stall to move out. It felt pretty doggy around town with his current combo but was nice and controllable traction wise.

Sorry to ramble guys. A bit bored driving around in my 420 engine hp ta. I really want to throw my turbos on too but waiting is the best plan at least for me.

Sure you will be very pleased with your car once you get the new motor in there. And you will have a lot more headroom to play with and in case of tuning errors. I have seen several blown ringlands on the stock pistons. They are not very strong at all.

Why a 402? I 'd suggest that a forged 370 engine would be a better combination/better revving engine for a twin turbo application.

totally agree, IMO the turbos will be a lil too small for a 402. 348-370 would be PERFECT.
