are you serious?

This BMR braket is 130

The machining and setting up of the cnc program cost money.

With a GP i can get the price down to around 220ea

Damn Alex, that looks very sharp.

There was a mention about my bracket "pushing the belt against itself" and I do want to clarify a couple things. First, the belt never comes close to touching itself. Second, there's more tension on the belt the way the tensioner is positioned, quite a bit more than the factory arrangement, due to the shallow angle of the tensioner. Also, the positioning of the tensioner (along with many of the high-mount kits) prevents belt walk -- no throwing the belt Third, you have to swap the tensioner pulley out for a smooth one, but a factory idler pulley is perfect. Last, this arrangement keeps the belt well clear of the thermostat housing, which a few brackets have an issue with.

Looks very promising Alex. You might also want to compare several alternators, the truck ones have one less mounting hole.

Just my opinion but that bracket is overpriced at $130.

220 is also a lil hard to swallow. I miss working on SBC's

That was just a quick design.

I have a corvette alternator and truck alternator i can try and make a universal bracket that can accomodate most alternators, i'm waiting to see if someone can get me a ls4 alternator and bracket to see how that would fit.

A cheaper option would be to have it investment cast, i don't see the price being much lower because of the price of having the molds made. and any finish work i may have to do.

Lason,

I'll give you the plans if you can find a machine shop that will make it for less be my guest. But if you see the complexity of the curves and how many passes youll have to make with a manual mill they won't touch it and you'll have to find a shop with a CNC machine then you'll have to pay them to write the program.

I'd pay $150-200 no problem if it was billet and sturdy. I will probably need another one of the winter.

Oh I hear ya, please dont take my remark as a jab at you. Thats a nice looking part and Im sure the programming isnt cheap along with materials. I just think the price of parts these days is getting out of control like the BMR bracket which is a VERY simple piece for a lot of green.

I agree, thing is "We" The designers don't control the price it's all up to the people fabricating the parts.

I'm sure if i made a run of 100 units i could get the price down in the 150 range, thing is we are not a large enough company to have 100 brackets just sitting around. All my prices are on 20 piece runs.

I'm looking to invest close to 1k into R&D before i have a final bracket that i can market. I want to try and nail it on the first piece if possible, tht would help lower the price a bit.

i will be talking to a foundry to see if i can get a quote to have them investment cast out of stainless steel. with some polish i don't see why it wouldn't look as good.

i would be intrested in that bracket too. I don't mind paying the money as long as the quality is there.

If it's billet, has all required bolts, with no shimming or aligning to do... $150-$200 shipped shouldn't be a problem at all. Looks good!

Make sure it works with aftermarket fuel rails too

Herr's mine! They took a piece of aluminum plate and then just cut the back off of the original bracket the thickness of the plate and it lined up pretty good. A little tweaking ,but all in all,it's good!
