Yea, it seems easy to get a few hundredths but everything just has to be right when you are close. I'll be the first to admit the suspension is marginal at best for what the car is running, that plus I have no excess horsepower - its just right on the edge. If i had 100 more HP I could take the so-so 60 foots and still run in the 8s, I could really lean on the tune but I dont want to put head gaskets on it and I want to make the LSx thing so no reason to hurt it just yet.

Its a good, solid 9.50-9.20 car and anything better than that is just gravy IMO.

Stevie, I'm still using the EPP 232/240 115, I'm going through the traps at 7250 and its still pulling pretty hard.

Jerry, I dont know lol, my wife takes the vids. This camera has the image stabilization stuff, I guess that helps. My old camera would never stay in focus at nigh but this one does a pretty good job. Track prep was great, no complaints there, like I said I'm just so close everything needed to be just perfect - sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesnt. If I go to SDR it will just be in D1SC/9.50 mode so prep wont matter.

Tom, yea I'd say the F1A is a good for a couple tenths/mph at least. My 100.00 intercooler isnt handling it very well. With a bigger A2A or big A2A it would pick up a bit more.

David, I wore out a set of MT 325/50 drag radials trying to get them to work right. I dont want to change the setup too much just to run them, I did run 5.86 in the 1/8 with 275/60s last year so I know they can work. I really dont see any benefit using them since around here MT radials put you in the 'slick' class anyways. I'd likr to run radial slicks but they are all 30" or so. Bowling green is open until Thanksgiving, several other tracks around are open all year around here so thats when I like to race - I hate hot weather.

BLWN1, I could put an FiC on it which is bigger. I'm not even close to maxing out the F1A though but an F1C (or F1R) would be a fairly large step up from what I'm using.

9.02, that's sooooo close. Ever thought about more cubes? Taking weight out might be easier, but I agree with you on not wanting to lose the power steering and brakes.

The F1C and F1R models flow more and are relatively close to the same size.

Bigger engine will cost around 5-6K by the time its all over, lot to spend for a tenth or two and the car still wont competitive in any heads up stuff. Less weight and it starts looking like a race car so the easiest thing to do is to just be happy with it the way it is. If I hit an exceptional weather day then it will run in the 8s as-is, when I feel this engine is worn out I'll replace it with something larger but I doubt anyone would buy this one so may as well use it up

A better IC ,as you pointed out, might not hurt.

Relatively "cheap" and not a lot of elbow grease involved.

Yea but if I upgrade ICs I'll probably do an A2W, I'm not 100% convinced the bigger IC will help that much. If I thought for sure it would pick the car up I'd have no problem spending the 1000.00 to do it. But there are plenty of cars with 'nice' intercoolers running nowhere near what mine is with a similar combo so I have no info to draw a conclusion from.

Soon enough, this was just a little quick cool off, back in the 80s already today. Two more months and the good weather will be here too

Thanks Sean, you will be close soon yourself if you spend some time on it.

Bigger a to a won't make much of a difference....now an a to w properly sized will have less pressure drop and packed with ice.......

I could maybe try some VP import and that might kick it up a little but I'm running the 75lb injectors at 100% now above 7200. One of my 83s went bad a while back and I stuck the 75s back in - need to buy a new set of injectors one of these days C16 is overkill on the tune I'm running really but I'm just paranoid.

I agree Tom, just not sure I want the extra weight or the extra work of an A2W right now.
