Well not a street car much anymore really, although I'm sure it drives just as nice as many 'street' cars do if I chose to do so. The powertrain is very docile even with the larger cam, not very stealth though

How's yours been doing, havent seen you posting much.

even without 8s... .02 off is still hauling ***. 8s SOUNDS so much faster but you are already running that combo for all shes worth @ 9.02.
i mentioned a different fuel as in LOWER octane....wouldnt the c16 slow you down since you are still in the 15 deg timing range and was running c10 or 12 before? just wondering and trying to learn. Now if you say insurance...well you KNOW i understand that I run 110 octane on 5 psi at the track even I will never be under-octaned again!

Hunter, KP is what you and i hope to grow up and be someday!!

Sure a lower octane may help out some. But even with only 14-15 degrees of timing its still making a fair amount of power and any bit of detonation is rough on gaskets.

Its the other way around, both you guys are making a lot more power then I am so one day i'll be able to make the big power like you guys

yea yea, big ole' turbo and a 402 - trying to set me up for a money race or what

Sucks about the weather at SDR, I'll probably skip that too. Thinking of hitting carolina dragway the week after though. Carolina is a good hookin track and if the weather is good its darn fast.

Congrats KP, and I'd not try and shed any weight off the ride. We discussed this a while back during the FSC article, and I know you don't want another "race car" again! 8's will come, I'm positive!

I agree. I would be happy just the way it is although it would be kind of frustrating to be so close. You'll hit the magical 8.99999 soon. I bet it rocks as a bracket car though. Especially with all those 9.0Xs.

Well i just ordered a new shortblock from W2W today, just a LS2/364, but I think the 4" bore plus a couple other upgrades plus being fresh will get me where I want to be. Its not frustrating at all really.

But its pretty consistent, BS3 is the shiznit for that.

only 18 more cubic inches, more of just a reliability mod so I can push it a little harder. This short block has over 300 passes on it so instead of rebuilding this one I figured I'd switch over to the LS2 stuff. But I'll run the rest of the year on this one, still runs great.

Oh wow. Congrats on the LS2. I think you made a wise move sticking with a stock stroke.

More of a financial move, I have a pair of fairly expensive torque converters plus some other stuff that just wont work out with a four inch stroke. Plus I'm really right where I want to be, 72-7300rpm is still reasonable, plus I'm always a little leary of the stock crank so I'll be using an aftermarket crank as well. Its hard to resist the extra 38 cubic inches for the same money but I really dont need the low end, I can easily put the car on the bumper as it sits.

Combined with the larger AFR 225 72cc heads, you should be making a lot more power. It's going to be interesting! Bob

Very nice KP!! Are you reusing the same cam with that combo? Are you going with 225CC AFRs?

Can't wait to see how this one runs!

very nice...i see you having it in the high 8's reliably consistant and then mid 8's when you push it...

i wanna get a built ls2 shortblock...some1 hook me up, these have gota be cheap with a standard 4 inch bore piston and basic ls1 rod combo with stock crank....

btw wrong section but yall smart guys are in here does it weaken it much by going with a 4.030 bore in one of those?
