Looking for help on supercharging LS1 in 240sx...
hello to all, i am pondering the idea of blowing my LS1 engine that i've hybrid fit in my 240sx. this LS1 is an ASA Circle track engine already pushing about 440 to the ground, but i am wondering what it would take to supercharge or turbo charge it. I use this car strictly for drifting and maybe the occasional road race, but it's already non road legal. here's the car and basically from what i understand, the engine has a full GM Hypo bottom end and Lingenfelter built heads with a custom lingenfelter cam ( i'd have to call to see what durations)
it's a nice engine, but would be a little better for my setup if it was about 650-700 horse.
Right now it's running a ASA ecm which has no speed input, and has no o2 sensors hooked up at all. does run a maf and a map though.
I also have an Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump running a steady 65psi to the injectors, which are stock as far as i know.
ok heres the big question
*What supercharger could i use bearing cost in mind?
*What kind of engine managment would be best?
here's a pic of my setup as of now...
this was before i used a different tube for the intake
let me know what you think if it's possible. thanx!

the ? to u is money and how much u got to spend on it-
the next thing is room and also do u want to cut it up a bit-
from what i have been reading and talking to a few people-the factory pcm is good to 800 hp or so-
so if wanting to laid down big big power of over that i would use a fast computer or the bigstuff 3-
also can u still retain the dry sump as it will be better and also make a little better hp-
by the way its looks nice-

I might buy dry sump parts if you have some for sale.
What kind of supercharger do you want? You'd have to take some measurements off of cars with Vortech, ATI and Magnuson kits to see what would fit in your car.

**** that thing would fly with a s/c but I agree on the fitment, you might have to modify quite a bit to get it to fit. If you could take measurements from cars that have different blowers and see which would accomodate your setup the best. I hate to reccommend this but what about a rearmount turbo? Or even a frontmount and can fab up your own kit to make it fit.

oh yeah fabbing up is no problem, there's quite a few things i could to to get more room, i could "V" mount the radiator, take out the radiator support and redo it to make some room, also can do some fender clearance too. yeah I'm not against turbo at all, with that much displacment, boost wouldn't be very far behind haha. yeah Mike Peter's runs i think a whipple, it's the one with the unmistakable whine to it, and it's the same car. I figure i'm going to make my own custom cowl hood.

so what would it take to run a turbo system, ecm/fuel wise, is there a controller i can grab that would allow me to piggy back the ecm? and what kind of injectors would i want to run at say for about 700 horse? I'm thinking it might be easier to do something like this...
not the best picture but you can see the turbo position, that would work great for my car i'm sure...
this beast is an Aussie, and made i thin about 750 horse that way. dont remember the boost. though

the stock pcm can go way beyond 1000hp with the right eqiupmrnt that should not even be an issue. biggest thing is going to be fitting everything under the hood. good luck
