I say what the hell...go for it. Put it back together and run it into the ground at Memphis and build a bigger setup over the winter.

Yeah on a FI car you can get away with a lot more slop in the cylinders than NA for sure. I would just check both of your deck for straitness and if they are strait I'd put a new set of gaskets and TUNE it and it should be fine. This depending on if you don't have any burnt pistons which I didn't see any of course pics aren't good enough to be sure so I am pointing that out. I ran around two months with no rings or even ring glands in 135&7 pistons so I am sure you can make it though the LSX shoot out if you get it tuned right.

thanks for all your inputs guys... i'm gonna see if i can gett billy from w2w to check this out... he's the guy who built my motor... i think it should be fine... that would explain why the **** i ran soo good... it picked up a tenth in 20degree hotter weather... Its hot as hell in Michigan right now, i cant imagine what it's like in Tn...

i'm waitin for kp to see this and get his thoughts... i know the pics suck, i cant get them any larger... ls1tech says the files too large...

or if member "427" can look at this... HE'S DA MAN!

Unless money is tight go for it. I'm waiting for my turbo to come back, I was having problems getting the car to boost up and one thing we found was that the impeller had made contact with the housing... that's racing. My turbo should be back Tuesday, and as long as it can build some boost on the street I'm bringing it.

That looks like a brand new engine, I'll say it was a little lean.

I dont see any signs of the gaskets leaking or being blown, hard to tell in those pics. When I was having head gasket issues after 20 passes or so the gaskets and heads would look like these pics. Maybe I just cant see in the your pics but I cant see why the car overheated so bad unless it was just low on water. The scuffs on the walls are from detonation most likely, I have a couple cylinders like that as well, I dont lose any sleep over it.

If you want to go to the shootout I'd put it back together, throw more fuel at it and run it easy at 9.50.

Maybe, I'm still not sure if I'll have the car running 9.0x or 9.5x at this point. Its a lot easier to drive at 9.50 and way more consistent, depends if I want to try to win or just make some blasts

I'll be there Friday in the AM as well, guy thats going with me cant get Thursday off. Hopefully we can hook up on the way down.

I never really blew anything out, I would just replace the gaskets when I could see the exhaust marks on the outside of the block last year. I'm still on the same set of gaskets I put on with the AFR heads though this year and no exhaust on the outside of block yet.

Dont remember, that was over a year ago. If I remember #4 was the worst cylinder so I would say RH side.

If you are using W2W folks you are in good hands, look forward to seeing your car. Hopefully my car will boost up, so I can turn it up.
