I say build the fastest or mabye one of the fastest f bodys that still has all the comforts,air cond.,pr.steering, overdrive trans.,every thing a good street car has and make it totally streetable,no running hot,no burned wires,no boiling fluids and EVERYBODY will be listining.I think a turbo setup like this at a competitive price would sell a ton!I know this is a tall order but you like a challenge anyway!Surely this can be done.

Here are the specs I would be after.....Veyron performance:

Acceleration to mph
0-30 1.2 sec
0-40 1.7
0-50 2.2
0-60 2.7
0-70 3.4
0-80 4.0
0-90 4.8
0-100 5.7
Passing 45-65 MPH 1.1 sec
Quarter Mile 10.4 sec @ 139.9 mph
Top Speed 253 mph
Braking, 100-0 MPH 293 ft60-0 MPH 104 ft
Lateral Acceleration 0.99 g avg

That's a stock Veyron....lol. With tuning and the wastegates altered a little, I don't see why that car wouldn't be a 145-150mph car in the 1/4. All while weighing 4500 lbs.

If the motor is LSx and it's not in a F-body - then I say go with something a little different than the RX7. Make it something thats not common. It doesnt have to be a FWD to RWD deal, or anything like that, just don't follow the norm if you leave the norm, your still not being different by doing a RX7.
I think stickin with a Camaro or T/A would be a great idea, a Vette would be the next choice, and after that........be creative. 70s VW BUG????

How about that new lotus elise body style and swap a TT lsx in there? i think its like 1900 lbs from the factory, they look great, and it would be something completely different.

They are cool cars to begin with but not too fast.

Or what about doing an lsx TT setup in a vette and convert it to AWD?

Or a LSX TT Motorcycle! I mean, how much lighter can it get?

What can you do really, Speed inc has a car they drove around at drag week and ran 8.60s. Onfire has a fully loaded firehawk running 9.20s at Bristol. Mightymouse drove his car 1000 miles, ran 9s, won a car show and drove it home. Ohio boys have a pair of turbo cars in the 7s, one also made the true street cruise at the LSx shootout.

Its getting pretty hard to top all that

Josh, if you want to keep it in an f-body and turbo why not work on a new market in your f-body.

Turbo Ecotec in the f-body, the new turbo cobalts will be out 2nd qtr of 08 people will need manifolds, cams, bolton type stuff. Fabricate intake and exhaust manifolds that can be used in the cobalt on your f-body. Tim is in the 8's now with a twin turbo 3.8 V6. Thats really the only thing that hasn't been tried yet and is achievable without bankrupting yourself.

i like this idea - save your money - get your ducks in a row, and the second a new one hits the floor be the first guy with a turbo on one, or the first guy in the 9s or something - then you can sell it in kits or something to other people once they see you in Camaro Performers or SUper Chevy or something, that would be the ideal approach if you want to really REALLy help out your business also

Honestly, I'd love to see a big single or TT on a 427ci setup... something that will run with the big boy vipers 1400-1700rwhp.

In reality, if I were in your shoes, I would think of a project car that would help grow future business for you. I love the idea of the 5th gen camaro. Be the first to turbo it, first to break in the 11's, 10's, 9's and make a nice kit. The magazines will eat you up (publicity) and you will have a new market.

I would assume one of the larger shops will have a new camaro turbo'd and in the tens before you can even buy one from a local dealer.

IMO if I was selling turbo kits I would worry about building simple and reliable bolt on kits that make decent power and are 100% complete and upgradeable. Unless you move your shop focus to one-off custom stuff building a world beater turbo F-body isnt going to do much but drain your reserve cash.
