Is this the Mac y-pipe you were talking about?: http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...oducts_id=1098
Does this y go from 2.5" to 3"? If I got this, then I'd just need the 3" I pipe.

The Shurflo 8000-643-210 is the one I'm currently running with good success. I think 1320 is using one on a project as well.

Have you any thoughts on when the 2.5" pipe to the turbo begins to be a real restriction?

Obviously bigger means less response, but if its a restriction, well.

2.5" round is pretty much the same internal area of a divided T4 flange anyhow IIRC, so presume it wont be restrictive until seriously T6 levels of power? Im not sure TBH?

Also, I wonder if, despite it not being optimal for boost control, mounting the wastegate just after the Y pipe would be best for performance/flow, helping negate any possible restriction caused by the 2.5" pipe?

not to hijack, but im also running a rear mount (Turbonetics T-76) totally home built from pieces of mandrel bends

i did exactly this and it has allowed me to have instant spool and still turn alot of rpms, my shift light is set for 7000 and the car is still pulling.
my exhaust is hooker LTs, home made 3" Y pipe, 50mm ebay waste gate in the side of the Y, 3" back to the turbo, everything wrapped, 3" out of the turbo, .96 hot side

cold side is 2.5" up to the engine bay then goes to 3", no intercooler, snow meth kit

motor is 365", 10.7 comp, TFS 215s, (234/243 .644/.654 116), stock LS1 intake & throttle body

at 3700# it ran 10.8 @ 124 with only 5# boost..... 60' was 1.51 at a 4000' DA
and it launchs harder on the rear mount setup than it did on the previous nitrous setup (you can see the cold pipe running up the drivers side, turning up behind the drivers front tire)

currently on 9# with 93 pump gas, lots of timing and NO knock, havent been to the track since i turned it up, but lots more left in the bag, confident it will go 9's in the spring on 14#...... most likely switching to an 88mm/.96 this winter
