*** CARTEK 402 Turbo traps 150MPH ( Street Car ) ***
My Cartek 402 Turbo and RPM(Rodney) 4L80E transmission got the job done.
I drove down to Atco today to have some fun , it was the last day of the season , and after Tuesday's rental when I found out my converter was way too loose , I wasn't expecting any great elapsed times , but I was determined to achieve one of my goals for 2007 , which was to trap 150+mph in a fully streetable combination , driven to and from the track , no trailer queen here . I knew the car trapped over 150 on my last run at the rental , but something happened to the timers and I never got a timeslip or any time on the board .
Today was the last day of the year for Atco , and I wasn't coming home without that 150mph slip , I wanted to try and lock the converter early in the run and see if I could get a decent pass out of it , my first run I left at 5lbs of boost off the footbrake and the 2-step , the car left soft because of the converter (1.54 60ft ), then broke the tires loose hard a little ways out , I lifted for well over a second , then said f^ck it , got back in it , locked the converter down track and it took off like a jet ,so I never got the chance to lock it early on that run . I ran a 10.80 at 147mph It was a fun ride though . The track was very slick on all three of my runs , at least I got to work on my driving skills a little .
My second run I left again with low boost , and tried to lock it about 200 feet out , the car fell on it's face and I got out of it . By this time it was close to 3pm .
Because there were only about 30 cars there today they were closing the staging lanes at 3pm (the time on the timeslip is 1-hour behind , it says 4:02pm ) after my second run I come back to the lanes and there's a guy there waving everyone off ( I look at my clock on the radio , it says 2:56pm ) the guy starts arguing with me and yelling THE LANES ARE CLOSED ! ) I figured , what are they going to do throw me out , I've been a paying customer there for 7 years , so I gave him the big wave :seeya , and drove past him into the lanes , sorry bro .
I thought for sure he would radio up to the tower to not let me run , but I got lucky , I was one of the last cars down the track .I knew this was my last chance of the year to get that 150 slip . On this run I figured I'd try turning the boost down hoping it would help me hook and wouldn't drive through the converter as much , and this time I stayed on the 2-step for a split second , left with no boost , pulled a whopping 1.60 60ft , I drove through the converter until about mid-track ( I still can't here it shift ) locked the converter around the 1/8th mile and the car took off , the car got a little loose up track but I wasn't about to lift . I ran a 9.7 at 150.11 . I got what I wanted :yesnod: , a street car that traps 150mph in the 1/4 , and I know there's more left in it once I get everything dialed in . Not bad considering the car doesn't put any power to the ground until half track , I can't wait to get the right converter in there and leave off a decent amount of boost , and get back to my 1.3-1.4 60fts . It was a great way to end the year . Over the winter I'll get things sorted out so I can go after my next goal ( an 8.99 timeslip ) .
Thanks to my fellow Cartek customers ( Alex, Sonny, Ellis and Rick ) for your help in the pits and with the videos .
Big thanks to my all my sponsors in helping me achieve one of my goals for the year , my next goal will have to wait for 2008 .

Bah, it probably traps 120mph at any other track but Atco.
JK, dude, that's a freaking amazing car you got there! Nothing better than acheiving your goals! Makes all the hard work and money well worth it.

The car is very streetable , I could've been more aggressive with the build , but wanted to be able to do a lot of street driving with it , I run the car on the street just as you see it in the videos , radials front and back , 4L80E trans , 3.15 gears . When I'm not in boost it's very docile . It's a hydraulic roller 402 , LS6 intake , stock rockers , stock Z06 exhaust manifolds , ETP 255 heads , and a rear-mount 88mm turbo .
