How much boost do most of you blower guys run with stock compression? 10:5 to 1?

well with 10.6:1 compression and 6psi on a procharger I popped a head gasket, I then went to 9.5:1 compression and 4psi and ran fine, but with less power...

High compression and boost =

If you run racegas (104 unleaded) full time and have a good intercooler or water/alky system you "should" be ok with 8-10#s boost on a stock compression motor. Set it up a little FAT on the dyno and use fairly conservative advance.

With 4#'s and stock compression I went from 390rwhp-470rwhp. I haven't dynoed it yet with 6#'s but the motors still in one piece. (knock on wood)

Heres my thing, I'm buying this motor from this guy in Cali. Its an A.R.E 382 forged, and he has a Vortech blower on it pushing 6 lbs right now. On 91 he put down 681rwhp and I wanted to see if there is more room for power?

It still has stock compression 10:5 to 1, he wanted to keep it streetable.

Stock compression on an LS1 F-Body is 10.1:1. If he has 10.5:1, then he had his heads milled for 4 more points. He'd better be careful with adding boost. I probably wouldn't go over 6PSI on pump gas.
