Default 4 port heat extractor hood for 98-02

Ordered my hood today. You can see pics on LM performance web site. It weighs 40#. Fibergalss. Use of stock hinges and hardware. My whole intention is to vent most of the hot air out from under my hood. With those 4 ports, it sure should. After speaking with the hood manufactuer, I was sold. Underhood temps should be much better, and he said the car would cool down faster. Mekin Ent. is the maker of the hood. Price tag $1095, shipped to my shop. I know one other person ordered this hood same time I did. Not sure if your here. Angelo

Yes, MECHAM Performance makes that hood. The hood differs from this one but heres the firebird version. Unfortunately from what I hear, you will most likely have fitment issues, since most the people who purchase their hoods do. It should be nothing your body/paint shop can't take care of though.

Hey SmokinHawk, did you try pulling the hood seal of fthe back of the engine compartment? I hear that drops the temps pretty good underhood. You get the occasional fume in the AC vent, but it's supposed to make a big difference, especailly at cruise.

By the way, that four port hood looks awesome. If it is well designed, it should have drains built into it like the firehawk does.
