Eh. Welding's alot of trouble for most people, esp. when you've got access to a tap that works. But yeah, I was just making the post to give others who were removing the pan another option besides welding.

i think the bulkhead is a good idea if you have the pan off. you don't even need a tap, i believe the bulkheads just seal with orings on each side. the threads in the middle of the fitting are just for the bulkhead nut to tighten down on

Is it hard to remove oil pan on LS1? What is necessary? I definetely wouldn't like to drill the hole while on the engine

Its not that hard. Just support the engine from above.

Loosen the 6 bolts for the kmember so they are barely on. Support the kmember. Slowly lower the kmember until you are able to slide the pan out.

So engine should hang in the air when I lower K-member? Can I support it from bottom somehow?

Has anyone drained into the front of the oil pan? Looks like the best place, but might be too little space there - it's only about 20mm high in the front?

I dont see why putting the return line into the drain plug hole wouldn't work....

If this wont work could someone please explain why?

It wouldnt work as gravity feed would it? Wouldnt it just back up with too much oil in the line and smoke like hell when you hit the brakes? I could see it maybe working with a pump system?...

If its as the above poster described, it doesnt sound like the K-Member has to come OFF the car, just lowered down enough....

Is 1/2" inner diameter enough for drain line (TC78, if it does matter)?

Anyone have part numbers for the fittings needed to run the -10 line from turbo to pan?...
