Should get the long block back this coming weekend. Had a little issue with the crank so we went with a forged one and went ahead with a 4.0 stoke crank so the motor will be a 383 now.

Wait till we get done with the current setup. It should be a torque monster and probably a little too much. I am going to experiment once it is in with a really big N/A cam. I have a two piece timing cover which will make a cam swap very easy. We will also change the rear end ratio as a 3.73 will be too much as well.

I bet a 3.42 or even a 3.23 rear gear would be fun with that much torque.

Very impressive initial #'s!!

Ironically enough I'm on this forum almost everyday and have never seen this thread. Very interested in the next phase though, looking to put something very similar together to your forged build for my Trailblazer SS.

I do, bein as I tuned it. It now makes 675 at a lower RPM than the peak on that graph. We seem to have some boost issues. It drops boost up top. We put ETP heads on it, and I think they flow TOO well.
Its a 346, forged. That graph it had CNCed 317s, and of course the KB.
We dropped the boost about 5 PSI and actually picked up quite a bit. Then we went ahead and swapped out the heads to raise the compression, cause we couldnt mill the 317s enough.
We ended up at a disappointing 675. We thought we would make more, but it is what it is.

What is the final boost number, compression ratio, and iat? How many hard pulls can you make before heat soak sets in?

Comp was about 9.4. Boost peaks @ 18 psi @ 4000, and starts dropping. By the time its @ 6000, its down to about 13 psi.
IATs on the dyno get to about 150 on a pull. Cant make but a run at a time, with some cool down time in between.
We relocated the intercooler rad, installed a bigger one, made a custom CAI, and put a bigger radiator in it. Now cruising, the IATs are a little over 100* in the heat of the summer. Of course sitting in traffic they go up.

So a speed density tune makes more power down low than a Maf tune?

Is this just on 93? So if I'm reading your other posts right, it was at 23psi at one point? Do you have any details on the heads?

How about tq.?
