Thumbs up Cheap carb style cast elows from Edelbrock!

Just got my new Summit catalog today and in the new parts section I saw them. For ls1 and ls2's; Cast Aluminum
Ultra low profile, 3.62" overall height 90mm TB $119.95 pt# EDL-3847
low profile, 5.04" overall height 90mm TB $122.95 pt# EDL-3848
High flow,7.00" overall height 95mm TB $122.95 pt#EDL-3849

And a ls1 ls2 style 90mm trottle bodies $329.95-(pt# EDL-3869)natural $349.95-black powder coated(pt# EDL-38693); They don't clear the factory type intakes.

They released a box type also but it says they're only good to 400hp.
Of course they release these after I buy another setup , but I might switch to one of these setups they look great!

I'm going to check the height of the Aaron's elbow in the morning. I'm fairly sure these are shorter and MAY not require cutting of the cowl and hood! If it looks like they will them I might get one and fix my ugly *** hack job.

Ok the Aaron's elbow is 4 1/2" tall. So notching would still be required, maybe not as much though with the smaller one. I'll edit the pt#'s into the first post.

Elbows are a natruel finish if you want black powder coating add 3 to the end of the pt#. Just noticed the small writing at the bottom.

You can't see them on the Summit website, but if you search the same part number on Edelbrock you will be able to see the pics

THROTTLE BODY INTAKE ELBOWS
FOR LS SERIES AND FORD 5.0L THROTTLE BODIES
These elbows were developed by the Edelbrock engineering team using the latest in Computational Fluid Dynamic software. Edelbrock Throttle Body Elbows are the best way to adapt LS1, LS2 and Ford 5.0L-based throttle bodies to EFI manifolds with traditional squarebore mounting pads. An internal divider optimizes flow quantity and distribution into the manifold and they can be mounted forward, backward, or sideways on Victor EFI square-bore manifolds. Three versions allow EFI tuners to position the throttle body low for hood clearance or higher for maximum airflow.

Ultra Low Profile Elbow #3847 is designed to fit under the hood of an LS1 Camaro when used with our Victor Jr. LS1 EFI manifold #29085. The throttle bore center sits 9.00" forward and only 0.56" up from the manifold mounting flange.

Low Profile Elbow #3848 has a throttle body bore center 7.00" forward and 2.00" above the manifold flange.

High Flow Elbow #3849 is an ultra high flow Victor version which measures 4.50" from flange to throttle body centerline (7.75" overall height).

There is this one also

I contacted Edelbrock on Jan. 18th and they anticipated a 6-10 week backorder.
I just sent a follow up email over to them and I will post up with the new ETA.
These look like a nice product, especially since you can use a regular LSx TB on them.

I don' think they're in the new catalog I have

Unless they're in the regular intake section.....and not the LSx section.

I wonder if there is any disadvantage to the ultra low since it has such a tight radius bend.

It's in the new product section at the front right after the index(blue pages).

I was wondering the same thing about the ultra low and the box sytle. How much boost could it go up to before it's a restriction?

Just doing the math from their dimensions on their site, it looks like the low profile 'Camaro' one would equate to no more than an 82.4MM flow path, and the Box style says up to 400hp on their site.

And no idle air slot milled into the intake elbow for the stock 3-bolt throttle body setup?

Anyone here a hitman? I have a job for them Just kiddin'.

That regular elbow is still rather expensive , its a simple elbow and yet you can get a complex intake manifold for a sbc for the same price. And cast is so cheap its unreal....the regular elbow shouldnt cost more than $40. The low pro one might worth a little more. But material and complexity of it is nothing.
