Default Best radiator hose setup near heat

I was wondering what everyone does with radiator hose near heat? I have a couple options but dont know what to use. Here are the pics from the start of my build and you can see the hoses will be close to the crossover pipes. I am going to move the turbo close as i can to the motor when i set it in tomarrow. The tape is just holding it temp. You can see where the downpipe is going to go.

I would use heat resistant tape and heat resistant sleeves. A combination of both should do the job.

This is what I found to be best at shielding body panels which are close to a turbo's exhaust housing: http://www.bsrproducts.com/product_i...oducts_id=1950

It's not a sleeve but I'm confident the adhesive will keep it in place, even without bands. The others I tried wouldn't stick for very long in the heat. May want to give them a call to check for a sleeve in the same material but it might not be necessary... the adhesive is "bad ***". As far as shielding goes, where there was tape, you could keep your hand on the other side of the panels.

This along with a turbo blanket from forcedinductions and you should be good.

I was thinking about running those flexable stainless hoses with rubber ends.

Thats what i got for a couple reasons.. They look decent, An looks better but pain in the ***. They are easy to adapt different sizes, You can have 1.25 out of radiator, going to 1.75 on the motor(or 1.5 if thats the case) You bend them, and they hold there bends good. You dont have to worry about them moving, and i would imagine it would take a good deal of heat to burn through stainless steel.

I dont think my lines will be as close as yours.

Good luck, Chris

I'm prolly going with the same thing on my lower rad hose...but my upper hose goes thru some tight areas and needs pretty tight bends that the stainless flex hose will not accomodate. But that hose goes thru some "cooler" areas of the engine bay

we have switched all of our stuff over to #16 stanless and an fittings. U could do that and put 45deg or 90deg fittings and go away from the turbo. Just buy some aluminum weld bungs, cut the ends of the outlets on the radiator shorter. here is a pic of what i did. I also welded one to the top of a stock water pump.

nice phil. I just need to find different size pipes and reducers because all the hoses are different sizes. I am going to wait until i get the crossover pipe done the see how close it is. The easiest and most cost effective would be the flexable stainless hose. I am open to any more opinions.

my lower hose goes thru some tight areas near exhaust components...I was successfully able to snake that flexible stainless hose thru there (the stuff that holds its shape)
