Default ZR1 Supercharger

Hey guys just wondering if any aftermarket company(including gmpp) offer the supercharger that comes on the 2009 ZR1 Vette? Hehe how cool would that be to have it on an f-body. Maybe even with a clear cut out like the new vette has.

I am 99.99992% that you will be able to buy the parts for the kit through GM directly. It will most likely be several months before one can. There was another thread on the topic of it fitting an fbody..... slim to none.

it could work. the m112 which is what is used in the vette, gto and fbody kits is 136mm tall. now the zr1 blower will be a tvs model and will displace 2.3L will only be 147mm tall, just 1mm taller. might need to cut more of the cowl away and maybe relocate the wiper motor.

just in case anyone wants the solid facts, or to ream more, straight from eaton's website:

I hear the new CTS-V has a slightly larger intercooler due to more underhood room.
If it would fit under your hood it would be the better choice.

the ctsv will have a smaller blower (TVS 1900) with a 1 brick intercooler where the vette's larger blower will have a 2 brick intercooler

Which is the typo? The 147mm, or the 1mm? I can't see anything on the TVS part on that height.

I think the 1 mm is the typo, it should read 11 mm.

My buddy is the parts Mgr at the local Chevy dealer (and he gives me no discount whatsoever - they are not cust friendly) heard that for the 1st year the plan is to only deliver spare parts to customers that can produce a registration for their Vette to get replacement parts. After that they might open it up. I figure he knows something since his cousin is the Regional Mgr as well. Could just be watercooler talk though, who knows?

that would be a dam shame! i would have thought GM would be trying to sell as much stuff as they could! what are the plus points in holding back the parts when theycould be selling them and making money on them??

Chris.

It will likely be a year or so before its readily available to the public. It may be earlier than that, but it isn't likely.

Dude, so many people on here (including me) would love for KB to make a kit that fits a GTO or f-body. They have kits that fit the LS motors, but some hood or other body mods might be needed.

you can put a KB on an ls motor though.

The thing they want to keep at max dollar is the ZR1, not the blower

Jim

PS I'd like the brakes off that thing too

KB won't if the vehicle is out of production, Maybe they will for the G8?
