seems about right with a t4 housing?
It won't spool that quick, but it would be full tilt probably by 3200-3500 or so, also depending on the cam specs, compression and trans setup.

So if i were to go with the S475 with the T6 1.10 housing right now would i have to change a bunch if i wanted to upgrade to a better BW turbo later? or are there better BW turbos that will fit in its place without any mods to piping given i run everything with plenty of clearence? my engine again is a 377 SBC with afr 210cc heads with 8.5 comp ratio cam specs are lobe sep 114, IVL .623 EVL .633 Duration at .050 I-250, E-256. trans is a coan th400 with stock gear ratios. pro tree trans brake and RMVB.

DrTurbo, you either dodged or just plain ignored an important question earlier. so I will ask it again as I would love to hear a correct answer....what makes the budget s4xx units so much slower spooling than the fi s series units???

I have an s475 and I assumed it was a bit slower to spool because of the big honking T6 hot sides. Great for strip but a little bit laggier for the street I'd guess.

the fi units are available with 1.1 or 1.3 t6 hotsides also. I am asking for an answer based on an apples to apples comparison. 1.3 t6 to 1.3 t6.

Oiling is different, bearing, lightening, Zero balancing....etc..etc. Under extreme custom units, then you have gun drilled shafts, shaved wheels...etc

You have to change the cold side some to make larger units work.

Thanks for all the PM's DrTurbo! I appreciate your input...

I am leaning towards the S400-75 in either 1.3 or 1.1 T6. I am looking for 750 rwhp with room to grow. This will be for a 403 stroker ls2, 8.2:1 compression, zo6 cam, patriot lq9 heads, M6, custom rear mount setup in a 28xx lb car. This is for an all around street/drag/auto-x car.

Should I look into the T4 1.25? I would rather have higher top end that carries out to redline than spooling too quickly. Anyone else have any suggestions?

What are the dimensions of the S400-75? What size downpipe and compressor outlet are on this turbo?

I would go S480 with your setup on a 1.32.

With a 403 and rear mount, you'll definitely want T4 housing around 1.00A/R. A T6 1.32 and big turbine wheel would be a pig, also being a 6spd car and only 2800 lbs would amplify that since load would be reduced.

408ci fully built, heads,cam, intake, TH400, 3800 stall.

Which would be the best turbo setup?

either
Twin S400-72 T4 1.10 A/R or other

Or
Single S400-80 T6 1.32 A/R or other.

I can not make up my mind to go single or twin at these prices anywayz the doors wide open.
