Which would be the best turbo setup?

either
Twin S400-72 T4 1.10 A/R or other

Or
Single S400-80 T6 1.32 A/R or other.

I can not make up my mind to go single or twin at these prices anywayz the doors wide open.

Twin would be the way.....MUCH more power then a single 80. The 80 will not keep up with a 408 once you turn the wick WAY up.

balancing would come from BW. please disclose what is the custom work you perform to justify the $1000+ mark up on a? lets go with the BW 78MM
The Budge HP numbers are factory given numbers the others are you own correct?
the budget 78 can be had with a 1.10 street friendly 83mm turbine.
The budget cover is the same on your standard SX/ST
I can also install the extra $$ race cover on the budget BW
I know for a fact borg makes a SX version with T4 housings
and the smaller turbine wheels for street use and cost hundreds less

Its not just enough for me to go by HP numbers
listed on you site. I need to know the details of work you perform
that makes your badged turbos diffrent from the others out there

also what is your opinion for use on a forged 346?

The turbo (S400-75 with a T4) will work just fine. Also depending on that HP level you are shooting you might want to take a look at the TC series we have as well. They spool ALOT faster, more compact and will make more then enough power to hit low 9's.

that question has been asked many times before and the answer is the budget turbos are plain and simple and old design and no matter what options are added to them can and will never be comparable to an S series or sx series turbo.

I would guess more supply and demand...the budget turbos are probably direct bolt on replacement turbos for very common diesel engine applications, as thousands are sold yearly, where the "custom" units are as stated, a bastard hybrid turbo or a lot less used turbo for turbo replacent.

Yes these units that we build, use custom parts for more power, quicker spool and most importantly, they are ZERO balanced, where BW's off the shelf are NOT zero balanced. Most are 4-6% off balance, BUT on a diesel that isn't a big issue...but on a gas engine,it can have some failure problems.

^^ i dunno..400-500..just a simple cruiser, trying to get the heavy 71 Coupe Deville out of its own way.Theres ALL kinds of room under the hood.Im expecting torque to be diesel like, since supposedly they put down 500ftlbs stock.
