Default Uh oh, no boost. HELP!

I just got the car to the track today after a 9" and fuel pump install. I also switched to a 3.85" pulley from a 4.10". (I have the D-1SC tuner kit) After I switched pulleys I noticed I was getting alot of surge. I would let off the gas and it would surge up and down until I came to a stop. Anyway, I tested it last night and everything seemed fine. The boost guage read 6#'s, which was what I was shooting for with my mods. Today I went to the track and on my first pass I noticed I wasn't getting any boost at all. It felt really sluggish. (ran low 12's ) At first I just assumed the belt was slipping really bad so I tightened the hell out of it, then ran it again. Nothing. If it was slipping I could see not getting as much boost but I should at least be getting SOMETHING. After I left the track I noticed that it wasn't surging any more under normal throttle like it was. Could my blowoff be stuck open or something? Everytime I shift I hear a strange noise from up front like a puff of air. Not like when you shift at high rpm and you hear the blowoff pop. Any ideas as to why I'm not getting any boost? Thanks.

Jason

Bad blow-off valve?

i'm not sure , but i think i heard if the blow off valve is installed the other way around , you might see some boost issues.

i'm not sure if this is true , but if you can't find any thing else wrong it might be worth checking.

I experienced something like that when a hose blew off in a hard-to-see area. If you are getting NO boost, go over the hose/joint connections with a fine-tooth comb.

My guess is the extra boost blew a hose loose where your previous boost pressure did not. Be careful. When you find it and put it back on, you may find you have more boost than the 6 lbs.

Lift the car, crank her up and crawl underneath the hoses... you should hear where the air is coming from.

OK I didn't find anything. Started it up and had my wife hold it at around 3K while I looked with it up in the air. Even if it was a leak I could see where that would waste some of the boost, but all of it?

Did you check the by-pass valve to make sure it's not stuck open?

I know. I'm going to go through it again in the morning, this time I'll have her take it higher in the rpm. To top things off her Z28 went faster than mine did today, NOT cool. lol

OK it was a combination of 2 small leaks. One in front of the maf and one behind the drivers side intercooler. Back up to 6#'s. Thanks for the advice everyone!
