Default valve springs for turbo...

i am having a problem above 8 psi. if i put the 10lb or the 14lb spring in the blow off valve it wont go over 8 psi and i get a fluttering sound in the exhaust(like a miss but it is not) long story; short. checked one of my intake spring and foud it to only have 115 seat pressure at install hight,1.865. at 1.800 it is only 145.. so i am looking to replace the springs with some that have seat pressure around 200 at install hight. so what springs are the big boosted guys running.

115# seat pressure would be a problem as you really need good seat pressure especially for higher boost.

I just replaced my AFR 8019 springs with the new Ferrea springs (dam expensive though) that are good to .700 lift and are drop in's. They are shimmed to 165# closed and 450# open and plenty of room before coil bind on my cam. 200# is pretty heavy for a hydrolic lifter but it's been done. Next time around I am doing a solid roller setup.

Are those Ferrea springs single or dual?

What about adjusting solid lifters, I'm sure you did your homework, how often do they have to be adjusted?

They are duals.

Adjusting solids is not that hard, just has to be done right. They don't need adjusment that often.

I have been interested in going solid but wasnt sure about how often they need adjustment. How often do you think/have you heard?

I don't have any personal experience with them since the 80's, but on the street, I could go a year with one adjustment, other people say they do it at 1K to 5K miles, no real default answer. Now for a race car, I would check them often especially if the valve covers are easy to remove. This will also help to see if anything is going wrong in the valvetrain. My guess though would be they won't need much if any adjustment the majotity of the time and if they do it's 10 minutes.
