working on 67nova with twins and dual fuel, lots of pics.

yep. the 4 injectors in the elbow are not working for our daily driving. we are putting in 2 sets of 8 injectors right in the intake runners. we should have that taken care of in a few days and be ready to give it another try.
we are going to keep the 4 in the elbow and eventually run meth through them.
the single pump is for pump gas. the 4 pumps are for meth/e85/racefuel.

those are some good prices. i will give them a try next time.
sometimes the mandrels are not really mandrels. it sucks when you cut a 90 in the middle and try and clock it and now you are welding 2 oval pipes together. the stuff from verocious is great to work with. i tried some stuff from summit that was from "pypes" it sucked. when cut part way thru a bend it turned into some oddball shape.

haven't been getting a lot done lately but things are coming along. had to work threw a few problems.
the 4 injectors in the elbow didn't work well. we were getting lean farts and big back fires at the same time. a/f ratio was all over the place. you can see where we put a plastic cover over one of the tb holes so we could look in there. we tried a few things but it wasn't working well.
after that we decided to just do 2 full sets of injectors on the intake. we did most of the work ourselves and it turned out nice. had to get a little help finish welding the bungs. also had to do a little wiring to the squirt to support 16+ injectors.
we had a mishap that could have been ugly. when putting the squirt together one of the components on the board got pushed over and caused a malfunction. the 8 primary injectors were permanently grounded. that means any time the key was turned on the pump would prime and power would go to the hot side of the injectors and fuel would just flow into the engine. all we knew was we couldn't build any fuel pressure so we turned it on and off something like 20 times. after we figured out the pumps were pumping and the fuel was going somewhere we kind of got freaked out. where did all of that fuel go? oh ****....
we pulled one plug and fuel poured out like a garden hose, and it kept pouring out for awhile. soo, next we found the squirt problem and fixed it, pulled all the plugs, drained the gas out of the cylinders, changed the oil and the plugs. fired it up and retuned for 8 primary injectors.
now it fires right up, idles smooth and quiet revs nice and clean. a/f ratio is steady, tuning is easy. WE ARE NOW READY TO HIT UP THE DYNO(or street if we were all legal)!! woohoo!
it is starting to look kinda busy under the hood but i think it still looks good.

we made it to the dyno. working thru the tune with the primary fuel system/injectors was easy. got up to about 5psi on pump gas. dyno was showing 402hp at 5500rpm and 5psi and was still going up fast. not bad for no intercooler and not peeking out yet. timing was at a conservative 15deg.
then trying to do the fuel phase we ran into problems. we could get the 2nd system to come on and the 1st to fade. seemed like it was going to work but once it tried going 100% to the 2nd set up it would start pulsing. i suspect one bank of the injectors were not on at all or a fuel pressure issue but it was too late to look into it. might just need to work that part of the tune more till it is perfect.

just thinking about your build, and having no intercooler, have you thought about pre turbo water/meth injection??
Hope you get the phasing between the first and second fuel systems sorted.
Chris.

pw/dc1 is primary fuel system
pw2/dc2 is 2nd fuel system(race gas or meth)
you can see our 2 ve tables, you can see it trying to make the switch. after this run we tried a quicker change over. we tried making he change at a lower kpa just to make sure we were not hovering right at the wg spring pressure and switchover pressure at the same time.
right now i suspect a fuel system problem on the 2nd system but if that isn't it then we just need to work on the change over tune area more. we are having fun and will get it figured out soon.
