Yes, it can be determined from the cam card. Scan the cam card, or give us the valve event info and we can tell you.

Cool thanks guys. I didnt think there would be cause it was made for F/I. How do you figure this out so I know for next time? Also you seem fairly knowlegeable about this, do you think it would be ok to install without degreeing it, or do you think I should?
It is a 408 with afr 205's 66cc .051 head gasket thickness and diamonds with 28cc dish. I know it is a good idea to check ptv clearence but how important is degreeing the cam when I only plan to run it straight up?
Also what is a good ptv clearence?
Thanks

They made it easy on the specs provided by indicating that the LSA and intake centerline are both at 115*; they're the same, so no advance.

Otherwise, you can calculate the centerlines of the intake and exhaust from the valve events to determine whether there is any advance or retard.

I did degree mine. It ended up straight up anyway, so the cam was ground correctly.

As to whether it might be worth advancing a couple of degrees to allow for chain stretch....I dont know. Might be worth it on a new chain. The chain I had when fitting the EPP cam did have some miles on it, so I went for it as is. Maybe only 1000 miles or so though.

Last time I took my engine completely apart, the old duplex chain was very stretched. I didnt measure it though in terms of cam angle. That was with some 10k+ miles.

We have found time after time that these cams are right on. You should be able to get by without degreeing it in. Bob

I would still degree it for a peace of mind, sure it clears on a stock engine, but you never know. Also, say it was ground on a Friday, its always best to check, then check again when it comes to internal work.
