Must be nice to have an HP tuner rep tune your car.

Nice was the car already dyno tuned before? Curious if the hptuner rep was able to get anymore our of it than the initial tune. I know it showed he did, but its television, LOL

The car was tuned by Strictly Performance who is a sponsor here on tech. It was a MAF tune and Ken from HP Tuner switched it over to 2 BAR MAP tune and it picked up 65 rwhp at the same boost level and even more torque. It put down 615 rwhp and 626 rwtq at only 6k rpms on another dyno day we brought it up to 6700 rpms and thats when she put down 700 rwhp not sure the torque number on only 10 lbs boost 91 octane pump. I am very lucky to have one of the best tuners in the bussiness get his hands on my car and it was all for free. After Ken tuned it thats when my D and D rebuilt tranny grenaded and now so did my 10 bolt rear end. I am currently waiting Midwest Chassis to ship me my custom fabricated 9" with detroit tru trac and back brace. Also putting in a 3" chromoly steel driveshaft then the car should be pretty bullet proof.

Dang man! 65rw is a nice gain. I'm planning on sticking with the mass air, swapping for the 2 bar map sensor out of a cobalt sc. (I'm the guy that bought the HiFlo kit from Turbo LS1 SS a while back) Finally getting it on the car, about halfway thru the install. I was planning on running a .5 bar spring in the WG and seeing what it does on 7-8 lbs just off the gate to begin with. I'm kinda like you and don't have a bulletproof drive train (semi 'built' tranny that is rated to take around 550 rw and a stock 10 bolt with 3.42s). Hopefully it'll stay together to get it to the track a couple times the season before something gives way.

yea be real careful and keep the boost low. My rebuilt tranny was built to handle around 550 also and it went up in smoke in only 500 miles on street tires!!! Yea I recognize you as one of the few guys running the Hi-Flo kit. Cheers! I love the kit and it looks real nice. You should be ok on 7-8 lbs for a little while, but definetly be saving for a new tranny and rearend. Check out the midwest chassis rears they are sick.

I thought most stock T56's could handle 600rw. What mods were done to your T56 when it went out at 550? Whats mods did you add since then to make it handle more? I've heard of guys running 750rwhp on stock t56's with no problems...?

Ya me too, +1 for the stock t-56 hell of allot better than a shitty60-e or even a built one for that matter. 700rwhp is allot for a stock trans no matter what it is. Well ok for the th400 and 80e crowd, LOL

Thats sick that you got that much in gains from switching to a SD tune, definetly just answered one of my questions, LOL

BTW, very nice car and setup.............. its a beast

well d and d performance did a partial rebuild on my facory t56 and they added carbon fiber syncros along with a steel shift fork and one other thing which I forgot, and after that they said it would hold the same power as stock, but be more reliable since the carbon fibre syncros would wear twice as long. and the steel shift fork would never bend with power shifting. they also replaced a few gears with aftermarket ones to hold more power, but the tranny blew with only 1000 soft street miles on street tires. D and D is one of the best t56 tranny rebuilders in the country period. Once that tranny blew I was only gonna rebuild it once more "hopefully" so I went ***** to the wall and they cryogen treated all the gears and installed a viper output shaft along with a new heavier duty intput shaft. There are guys that are putting down close to 900 rhwp with stock t56 trannies, but they probibly have only put that power down once or twice then KABOOM like me.

Thanks Websy's I appreciate the compliments!!! I wish you the best of luck with your build and I back your decision 100% to go with the factory stroke forged crank it will rev like a mo fo and put down probibly more hp than the stroker you had planned.
