Tips on installing D1SC?
Tips on installing D1SC? Any of you ATI guys have tips on installing a D1SC? I'm about to start tomorrow night and go throughout the weekend, so any tips would be greatly appreciated.

take your time and expect to spend a better part of a day if not two.
double check all the hose clamps.

WD40 is what I used for the hoses... makes assembly MUCH quicker and easier to in some way lubricate where they connect to the joints/pipes.
Are you M6 or A4? There's more advice depending on that.

Andy, come check us out over at rivercityf-bodies.com Weve done a s/c or two and have a member with a t/a with a d-1 on there car already. He made 470rw with all the boltons.

Re: Tips on installing D1SC? If I were you I'd throw a few washers on the new crank bolt and tighten it way past ATI specs. They suggest 40 + 1/3 turn. I'd suggest at least 150 and as far as your arms will go. Make sure you clean the stock crank pully VERY thoroughly before putting the ATI S/C pully on. I can't stress to you how important this stage is. Any wobble in that S/C pully and your belts will live a short and painful life :p

Re: Tips on installing D1SC? Well, your lid will be going bye bye! Congrats on the ATI. Another blown Fbody in Jax. Wish I had some experience with the ATI's but I don't. I'd offer to help ya though either way. FWIW, read the instruction manual a few times and throughly understand / Comprehend the material.

Re: Tips on installing D1SC? Stalker, I am supposed to go to Norris Motorsports on Monday. Actually, I think I pm'd you on ls1.com about a half a year ago about your s/c. Right now I'm about halfway through it and new problems keep arising (snapped the head off the bolt that tightens the s/c pully). Anyways, we might need some help possibly on mon. or tues. if so I'll drop you a line.

Are you talking about taking your car to Norris this Monday? 8/11.. Sucks about the bolt, hope you manage to get that taken care of without too much hassle. Since your halfway thru the install I assume otherwise things are moving right along. I'm here for ya brother if you need some help just let me know! Aint doin nothing else
