I daily drive my 95 Honda Accord to work and back everyday. With gas going to $5 a gallon by the end of the year it is a good investment. I drive my SS everywhere else and it always feels fast compared to the Honda plus it really gives me something to look forward to when I get home. I'm shooting for 700rwhp on pump gas and meth this summer. If that gets old I'll bump it up to 850 and max out the kit but I really don't think it will. I was at the 600rwhp mark last year but had over 750rwtq at 3400rpms so it still felt pretty fast. I honestly don't know if the new setup will feel as fast as the old setup even with 100 more rwhp because of how hard the old setup hit. But overall, the APS will be much more reliable and problem free so its a good tradeoff to me.

all I have to say is to get your goals set in your mind/budget and get them done before the future baby arrives, cause that changes EVERYTHING...

Its worse than crack, and boost especially! If I get bored of this I'm going to a badass N/A setup with a huge shot. For mostly driveabiltiy and reliabilty but with less weight will still haul and have some serious torque.

Once the bug bites you are screwed, LOL

Lots of great posts here.... I appreciate all the "help" (all of you are enablers. lol) you guys are offering.

I definitely do not daily drive my SS. Its a weekender only... and I live 3 blocks from work... and either walk or drive a Ford Expedition to work when I drive. Ive owned the SS since 2003 and have only put 24k on it since Ive owned it.... and a lot of that was tire spin so... well... a lot of those miles were standing still.

Im not into bikes so thats really not an option.... no offense but I dont find bikes impressive. I mean... when you cram pack all that power to one wheel and with a curb weight thats a few hundred pounds then... of course it feels insane. I want the liter bike scare in a vehicle with 4 tires... a vehicle that sometimes spends its time on 2 of the 4 tires.

Anyways.... I spent some time with a friend of mine today that has his goals set and well.... lets just say he's going to rattle the LT1 camps cage REAL soon... and gonna rattle it real hard. It reminded me of where I need to be. In the seat with a ton of power.... and at the track a lot more often.

My mustang made 450 or so to the wheels on spray. It was fun the first few times I sprayed it on the street and then I got used to it. But the first time I ever sprayed it, it dead hooked(on the street with no burnout) and made a 10.80 pass off a stop light. That was with no seat belts, no helmet, and my buddy riding shotgun and he closed his eyes and started praying when I clicked 3rd gear and the car started swaying a little bit.

I believe road racing will cure some of the illnesses being reported here.

500 rwhp is pretty kickass..for the first week. Then you want more as 500 gets very boring.

I don't understand this addiction. Sure 680rwhp scared me alittle when I would punch it and start fish tailing at at 70+mph. I have a slow dd so it would always shock me every time I would take it out. But it doesn't matter, I still needed more so now my new build goal is around the 1000rwhp marker. It doesn't make sence, it was plenty fast at what it was before but I still needed more. I don't think it ends until you run out of money lol.

I switched to heroin. It's cheaper and I don't have grease under my fingernails all the time.

Seriously though, it does help to drive a slow-*** DD (gutless 4-cylinder Toyota P/U here). Anything feels fast after that.

I'm up around 630rwhp and it hasn't got boring yet, but I like tinkering on new stuff so I'm headed up in cubic inches and boost from here.

I'm getting married this year so I'm buying and stashing upgrade parts away so I don't have to go to the Chief Financial Officer later and beg!

You get to a point where you can't put it down on anything but a prepped track. At that point the boredom turns into frustration.

What's funny is I never got bored of the power on my bike, could only take it up so far so fast so often. My car put over 500rwhp and I have romped on it plenty, but starting to get the same thing in the original post, something might be wrong... but when I pull on C5s, C6s and Supras in my neighborhood, I get my grin back and all is fine. lol
