Nice writeup, BTW. Feels like I'm back in school.

Why did you use a Blow Off Valve (BOV) instead of a by-pass valve (BPV)? BPV's like the Vortech Mondo or the ATI Race bypass seems to be what everyone else is running.

Also, you might want to spray your meth into the ATI plenum so that it hits the IAT sensor. Then you can tune the base spark aggressively, but back it out based on high IATs. That way, if you ever have a problem with the meth your IAT's will shoot up and the PCM will pull out timing and save the motor.

I used both a BOV and BPV, I basically added the BOV as an after thought so I wouldn't be one the unfortunate ones who blows up the ATI plenum. It is just insurance policy and I will probably go to it solely down the road with a FMIC.

I chose to spray the meth downstream of the plenum for that very exact reason. I have a twin nozzle set up ahead of the TB and I located the IAT in the EGR spot on the FAST 90 to see the cool down. The IAT/timing tables are set up to retard timing in the event the temp gets very high.

Never played with a BOV before so I have some questions. When you're idling does it bleed off air like a BPV? So is the BOV in your configuration just there to bleed off the boost that the BPV can't take care of?

Didn't know you moved the IAT sensor. That should work pretty well. I wonder if the sensor itself might get heat soaked quicker being that close to the engine?

I've been tuning out some of my knock out with IAT spark reduction during these hot Texas summer days. It was originally tuned in 50 degree weather and with boosted IATs well under 90 F the car could handle 19-20 degrees advance with no problem. This summer with the IATs pushing 120-140 F I started getting knock so I'm having to pull it down to 16-17. I know, I need a water injection kit.

Bad idea, I don't see it being a problem used in conjunction with a BPV, but it is not a good idea to use it w/o one. It strains the blower b/c it's not bleeding air off when it's supposed to like a BPV.

No, the BOV does not bleed air off like the stock ATO BPV, it is just there to supplement the stock ATI valve.

Don't know about the heat soaking, I don't think it would be likely. The manifold really doesn't get that hot to begin with.

Yes, I know what you mean with the temps. I will be doing some more with mine this week on the dyno.

Interesting thought, I wonder how the guys are doing it with the BIG red Procharger BOV and the FMICs?

Not sure. It can be done, but it's not good for the blower. Are you sure you're talking about a BOV and not a BPV? I'd talk to the guys @ EPP about it before you go to a BOV, they're the Procharger gurus.

I believe you will achieve your goal and then some. My goals were like yours as well as my set up, except for I kept stock cubes. Good luck.

The trans was short shifting 1-2 and 2-3 around 5000 RPM, I believe it has to do with the vacuum modulator on the trans and the fact that there is now boost present, whereas last year with the h/c there wasn't and it shifted where it was programmed to. I am not real sure if this helped it or hurt it accelerate down low. Nonetheless, I have accomplished my goal at only 9psi!
I'll post a vid real soon.

One video.
The guy in the other lane is making all the noise. We just happened to start our burnouts at the same time.

Nice runs, its allways nice to see what the car does at the track rather than just dyno #'s.

Nice! I'll bet the short shifting is hurting the times quite a bit, as a lot of boost should be building between 5000 and 5500 rpm. Bob
